Wow Magic fucking sucked ass tonight, Dwight with one field goal???? Might have to change my prediction to Lakers in four. We'll see how they respond on Sunday, maybe their fat ass coach can actually get them ready for the next game.
Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:29 pm
Lakers must win next game as well then second game in orlando and then we can say that it`s all over

Magic got destroyed today, nicely done by LAL.

Orlando seemed to play better without Jameer Nelson.

What he is back
Edit:: Kobe is version of M.J.

Oh no bad start for the Magic-Team
Fri Jun 05, 2009 6:45 pm
It didn't look like a game in the Finals.
Fri Jun 05, 2009 7:43 pm
It's just One Game , Orlando can/will still come back .
Go Magic !

These things happen, maybe in the next year

Because of the Magic defeat, the topic was about unsportsmanlike behaviors, bad halftime interviews blah blah blah..
Anyway, I expect Magic to come out big the next game and Kobe should continue his all-around game.

wrong attitude here, if you are good enough to make the finals then the young team excuse is thrown out imo. you gotta be at your best right now cause you might not ever make it back, no matter how good you think you are

That's loser talk .
They got in The Finals , so they must prepare and give their best for every single game .

Not really, even if the Magics were the one who won tonight and not the Lakers and they did what the Lakers did, we would still criticize them for their actions. And you cant deny that the halftime interviews was shit.

Can't blame the Magic, it's their first trip to the Finals. It's a different atmosphere, I'm sure they were a bit nervous because of the whole vibe and all. Not to mention the whole Jameer Nelson thing, that might not have been that much of a distraction, but also something besides the game to focus on. I expect they'll play better in game two. They got a lot of good looking shots that just didn't fall for them. Sooner or later they'll start dropping. (Hopefully not though...)
LA played nicely, like real champions. Good closeouts on the shooters most of the time, played strong on the inside and were physical on the defensive end instead of getting caught up with the refs. Kobe was just being Kobe and willed himself to his statline. Some of the shots he made really had me grinning like a child. Ariza played some tough defense on Hedo and I as usual I loved Odom being aggressive (even if it didn't show up in the stat line.) Then again...a double double, nothing to be ashamed of.
Dwight Howard is also a pleasure to watch, much like it was to watch Shaq and to a certain extent Tim Duncan. (Come on, he is still from a rival team...
)
Just my thoughts on the game. =)

I definitely agree on that one.
Made me wonder where the heck is Bill Walton. Haven't heard him during playoff games that I watched.
People seem to be focused on Kobe's 40 (not that it's no small feat) but I was more impressed with the near triple-double (40-8-8).

I'll fill in for Walton: Orlando's shooting in game 1 was the biggest atrocity in the history of human civilization. Hi Luke.
Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:14 am
Just imagine if Walton was commentating during the ECF, we would hear an unprecedented record amount of "Throw it down bigman!" in just one playoff series.

Heh.
At least good ol' Bill is entertaining enough. I kinda miss his dumb ass.
Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:55 am
Another classic Bill Walton line: "Bibby shoots from behind the electric fence"
He was referring to the 3pt line of course
Some more:
http://www.themoviemind.com/2008/06/05/ ... -all-time/Bill Walton is a pleasure to watch, as is Stephen A. Smith at NBA Draft Day....
Back on topic, hope Magic can bounce back & go back to Orlando with series tied at 1
Sat Jun 06, 2009 12:08 pm
Yeah, I think Orlando can now shrug the tense and nervousness away and put up a series.
I expect more production from the other Lakers, the bad side effect of Kobe scoring 40 would probably the other Lakers being complacent, so they should get rid of it.
Sat Jun 06, 2009 12:18 pm
I agree on that. Maybe that's why Vujacic isn't as good as he was last year. But Orlando just played like they weren't in it. It's disappointing for Finals series opener.
*remembers the Spurs-Cavaliers series*

Doucheavic just flat out sucks this season-playoffs-finals. Period.
Talk about regression.
Sat Jun 06, 2009 12:41 pm
Agreed, he seems a step slower than last season too. Add to that that it looks like he wouldn't be able to get a shot to fall even if the hoop was the size of the Grand Canyon. Just horrible the way he's been playing.
I prefer Brown and Farmar off the bench as it is. They aren't as erratic in their playing style compared to Sasha, passion good...erratic behaviour, not so much.

And that's an understatement considering how magnificent his defense was last season *cough* Ray Allen *cough*.

Funny seeing Sasha play in garbage time, I think he should go back to is buzz cut! Long hair do machine no good. I wonder if this will turn into Spurs v Cavs finals. Last night's game lacked excitement.
