Robert "Tractor" Traylor or Oliver "Pig" Miller are the only contenders I could think of.

Oliver Miller seems the most likely in the absence of definitive weight listings, though I remember reading that Shaq's listed weight was thought to be quite generous, with suggestions he was closer to the 400 pound mark.

Maybe Dallas will become a bad team (as Minnesota did) and Dirk will want to go to another team (like KG). Or if they can't get a ring, maybe he will go to a better team (like Malone with the Lakers)

Good question. However, I feel it may have wound up in the wrong thread.

Why Jordan is still not in the HOF?

Tue Apr 08, 2008 12:49 pm

not eligible yet.

he will be next year.

Tue Apr 08, 2008 12:50 pm

You have to been retired a certain amount of time. He should probably be eligible next year, if Hakeem was this year?

EDIT: Beaten. What he said.

It's not at all difficult to look these things up.

so he helped structure the salary cap & free agency? that's cool, other than that, he doesn't really impress me.

Well, Vitale also made it for being a commentator/promoter of college basketball. Plus his five years of NCAA coaching.

Isn't coke supposed to make you LOOSE weight?! Otherwise I need to have a serious word with my dietitian...

I'm no expert but interestingly this article refers to weight changes as well as weight loss. Kemp's problems with cocaine probably weren't the worst case scenario and other factors in his lifestyle likely contributed to his weight gain. Poor conditioning during the lockout comes to mind.

What are criterias for to be eligible for the draft?

Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:40 am

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Draft# ... on_process

All American players are automatically eligible to enter the draft at the end of their college eligibility. Through the 2005 NBA Draft, American players were also allowed to declare eligibility for the draft at any time between high school graduation and the completion of their college eligibility. International players could declare eligibility in the calendar year of their 18th birthday, or later.

The collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players union, which took effect with the 2005-06 NBA season, established new eligibility rules to end the former practice of high schoolers jumping to the NBA. The 2006 NBA Draft was the first under these new rules, which are:

* All players must be at least 19 years of age during the calendar year of the draft.

* A player who completed basketball eligibility at an American high school must also be at least one year removed from the graduation of his high school class.

Who do I have to talk to do declare my eligibility?

Thu Apr 10, 2008 8:43 pm

Presumably having an agent would help.

Who decides which jersey is going to wear the team, I mean, for those teams that have a third jersey?

Sat Apr 12, 2008 2:26 pm

IIRC, some teams had like a "Sunday jersey" a couple seasons ago.

How many of Tyson Chandler's points are off alley-oop passes from Chris Paul?

Sat Apr 12, 2008 2:41 pm

It cannot be more than four points a game.

Doesn't the home team wear away jerseys on Sunday?

Sat Apr 12, 2008 5:22 pm

^No. Don't think so, but the Lakers do wear their white jerseys on Sundays. So actually I take that back, I have no idea if teams wear their alternate jerseys on sundays or whatever, all I know is that the Lakers do..

Sat Apr 12, 2008 5:25 pm

Hmm... I think its different policies for different teams. I've seen quite a few teams wear road jerseys at home on Sundays... I'll look into it.

BTW, now whenever I see there is a hidden member, I think "Chaser!"

Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:04 am

The Sonics wear the white jerseys on Sundays for the most part, they wore them when they beat Denver in double OT. I've never heard the alternate on Sundays rule but the only evidence I have to prove otherwise is Seattle.

Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:35 am

What's David Stern's salary?

well the lakers are the only team with an alternate home jersey becuase their regular homes are gold.

the sonics have a yellow alternate away jersey so they might wear those on random road trips. although i dont think ive seen those yellow ones this year.

I've read that teams with alternate jerseys are required to wear them a set number of times, but I believe it's left up to the teams themselves to make the arrangements. Several years back a few teams seemed to wear their alternate jerseys in Sunday games but I don't think it was ever an official rule, just a custom.
