I'm not without bias, but I feel a couple of Nique's scores were a little generous (especially given how many windmills he threw down in that contest, awesome as each one was), so the final 45 kind of evened things out. That dunk had already failed him once before, in the final round against Spud Webb in 1986.

As I have found a little time between studies (I'm also trying to catch up a little with things in the forums

) ,here's a new mixtape I made for the Top 3 up and coming superstars in my opinion: Rose,Durant and Griffin(Wall and Westbrook didn't make the cut for this video...)
Thoughts?

Solid video, you have potential

Jordan's dunks were way better. How many one hand windmills did Nique do? His best dunks were the off the glass one hander and the two hand windmill, and the pump reverse. Jordan did a sideways windmill, under the basket windmill, reverse rock the cradle, freethrow line one hand clutch, and a pump reverse as well. Wilkins was heavily favored in the voting, but Jordan had the flare, creativity/variety, and good finishes and barely beat him.
Honestly though, that is how dunk contests should be voted. Each dunk was voted individually, but now they are based on a scale of some imaginary bar that was set through past dunk contests.
Excellent video
George7. A bit dark, and many of the videos didn't look like they were in 720p to begin with, but nice mixing.

Thanks guys!
Pdub,Well i tried to play a little with contrast settings in vegas, that's why it's darker than it was originally. And for the quality thing, because of the lock out, NBA has deleted all of its youtube videos i could use, making hard for me to find all that i want in HD.Though i was lucky with most Griffin vids(there are some channels with HD vids only with Blake) and Rose ones (had most pre playoffs ones from a previous vid i made).
But Durant was really tough to find, even though all Durant's vids i used were actual 720p from the start(i even had to download whole matches and take some KD's highlights)....

Couldn't agree more. Great contest though, though some of the dunks have obviously been taken further since.

On one hand I agree, the scoring sometimes leaves something to be desired and the current concept of throwing out the judges for the final round bothers me. On the other hand I guess it's inevitable though, innovation and originality are the key so that's bound to affect the scores in subsequent dunk contests, at least subconsciously.

Not surprised to see the dunk at number one get that spot. It's probably his most famous dunk, it made a fair few reels in 80s and 90s compilations.

Drexler had a nasty windmill

Thanks for highlighting Drexler Andrew, don't get to see too much of him.

He does get overlooked a bit. If there's one good thing that's come out of the lockout, it's that we've been getting some nice old school videos on the NBA's YouTube channel. I think they should keep that up, even if the lockout ends in time for us to have a 2012 season. It'd be something cool for them to do during future offseasons as well.
Love this promo for 80s content on NBA TV:
And this MJ story from Kerr:

Agreed. It's great to see the comradiere of the retired players like Run TMC.
Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:51 pm
Yeah I've been watching the TMC videos too. Hopefully they will keep it up; after the initial "dislike the retro videos until the lockout is over" campaign, the old videos have been getting a good response. I think most of us enjoy a bit of nostalgia and at this point the NBA has a lot of great stuff in the vault.

Those videos have made me want to pull out 2K12 & finally give Run TMC a go.
Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:59 pm
Did you end up getting NBA Jam: On Fire Edition? You can run with T and C, but M is in Sacramento.
Sat Nov 26, 2011 11:03 pm
Nah, didn't end up getting it or any of the other games that have come out. Not much gaming time these days, so I'm not buying many games at all. Admittedly I did really like the demo & rate it. May yet get it.
Still can't believe Warriors gave away Mitch to Kings for rights to #3 pick Billy Owens. Big mistake, although they would draft Sprewell about a year later to cover starting SG spot.
Anyways, was watching NBA's 60 greatest playoff moments. Have watched numbers 1 through 30 so far. The one that is still ringing in my head:

It seems Boston likes stealing the ball from other teams.

I'm glad the NBA is getting back to regular business, but those are some nice reels.
