I was refering specifically to his clutch..which ties Jordan. His overall game imo...has not tied jordan. Notice i said "someone"... damn right you mis-understood.

I thought about it a bit after I made the post and also came to that conclusion. I guess it woulda been outta character.

considering jordan has hit clutch shots that have won championships, I respectfully disagree.

^^^^^^^
also can't argue with that, tonight was maybe one of the better clutch performances for a long while though.
I think Kobe has a couple more big clutch performances before he can get any kind of comparation to Jordan, if you'd asked me right after his shot had gone in tonight I would have screamed that he was better than Jordan ever was, but now I've come down, nah he needs a couple more Big ass performances like tonight before comparisons can be drawn. The way he's played in this series is just unreal though, anyone who thought he was only good because he shot the ball a lot needs to watch this series and shut up, he's passing, rebounding and leading his teams and producing in the clutch, he's shown he can do it, what else can you hate on now?
edit:
general wonderment:
when Mike made the big ass play against utah, did utah fans cry about the push before the shot? or claim he fouled malone? wasnt watching then, anybody know? just wondering if all clutch plays get debated by opposing fans

I have no problem with you disaggreeing with me....what i have a problem with is people putting words in my mouth. In either case..whether or not a clutch shot is to win a championship or to beat the "overdog"...it doesnt make it any less clutch. To each his own however.

you don't think its more clutch when it wins a championship? I mean my view is the higher the level the more clutch a shot can be, because the pressure is higher. If kobe missed either shot today, they woulda just been 2-2 and the Lakers still had a chance, plus it was only 1st round. When mike made his it was to win an NBA championship, in a road game, against a team that could have possibly won it had it gone to game seven. but like you say each to his own, i was nervous as hell just WATCHING the game, so fuck knows how kobe stayed cool enough to take it. 14,000 odd fans making all that noise odds are if i'd have taken that shot I wouldve knocked Shaun Marion out on the bench id be shaking so bad.

Where the hell is Sit?. I'm surprised he isnt here celebrating the win.

I'm here lol Its only 10am on a public holiday... thats why i like 10:30 EST games better... i can follow via live updates!
From what I've read... Two shots to get LA into OT and the win... and a huge clutch performance. Damn man... thats pretty friggin awesome! And Lamar is playing great!
Can't wait for the second round... what did I tell ya? Looks like crossing my fingers and predicting a LAkers win did just that! haha...

Although I will say I was pretty uncertain whether I should have said LA could win cause I was scared I'd get criticised... ah well. My bad.
How good will Clips vs Lake show be? Personally... i would rather LA plays Denver but if it's Lakers-Clippers... that's gonna be one hell of a series!

Dont jinx them man!!
On another note, Laker point guards needs to attack Steve Nash more. In a scrappy game like this how the hell did he end an overtime game with 0 personal fouls?

But in a year or so, everyone will be hopping on the Knicks bandwaggon, so I guess I'll stay put.
25 years you mean.

Simply amazing, amazing, amazing
the way the game ended. Wow.....huge stuff by Walton & Smush and of course Kobe.
I think it's safe to say Lakers are going through?
Mon May 01, 2006 10:47 am
They aren't safe yet but they won a 'must-win' game. The Suns will need to work extra hard to stay in this series but even if they win at home in the next game, LA still has home court advantage.

At least the Knicks have one a championship..or in your case a playoff game.

I just saw the replay of the "foul". It was no fucking foul..all ball. Stop bitching people...lakers kicked the suns' ass fair and mother fucking square.

Strange pictures of Kobe are popping up....again...

Wow, great buzzer beater by Kobe. Shows why he is one of (if not the) best clutch shooter in the league right now..
A question: In Europe, when two players have a jump ball, and both of them fail to touch the ball as they jump for it, they are not allowed to touch it as they come back down. Is there any rule like that in the NBA, or is that just FIBA?

The Black Death wrote:Lol, no real homecourt advantage with clippers lakers. They should just put in half the floor for the Lakers and the other half for the clippers to save time.
.
Naw...the homecourt really goes to the Lakers as it's still Laker town...I went to the Laker/Sonic game and it seemed that 1/3 of the crowd were Laker fans!
Man, I totally thought the game was done when the Lakes were down by five....
In terms of Jordan Comparisons... there's three more things that Kobe needs to get and that is...3 more rings.
So for homecourt with Clips vs Lakes, it's probably the Lakers because those Laker fans with all their money is going to bribe all the bluecollar Clipper fans into staying home and getting their tickets!
But I have to say one thing:
WHAT IS UP WITH KWAME BROWN'S BUTTERFINGER HANDS?!?!?!?
Mon May 01, 2006 11:45 am
^That's because the Sonics suck.
