I think that & the fact that Spurs got so much rest has gotten into their heads.

Well, instead of actually playing great basketball against the Pacers, they let them hang around to force them to play seven games and get less rest.

True. Only have ourselves to blame.

By the way, we had 10 days of rest before the Bulls series but came out rusty and gave away homecourt advantage. This time, it's fatigue. This is the playoffs and the Finals. No time to feel anything but be ready for every game. The Heat against need to adjust to the series and the opponent. De javu, happened in Bulls, Pacers series, now the amazing Spurs. Only problem is that Spurs I believe are the team that can match the Heat talent wise. True test to the greatest team in the history of NBA.

And I think Spo took our Joel Anthony statements seriously. I can't stop but bursting on the Duncan buzzer beater Joel face

Joel's known to be better at pick n roll defense than Birdman. Can't say Spo didn't try(in-game adjusting) but still loss is a loss. Hope the team is better prepared for game 2.

Well Spo tried to adjust. That's why Joel Anthony played and Miller got more minutes. If Battier would just hit 3s at a normal rate you might have a complete different game.

To follow up on the Spurs point, if there's any team that could probably sweep in the Conference Finals and not look at all rusty for the Finals it would be the Spurs which makes them that much harder. They've been through this stuff so many times it's all something they know how to prepare for.

What I got out of just reading this thread for the first time...So F'n Awesome might be the most delusional person here at the NLSC. NovU is a close second.

Is that a "bandwagon" gif? That's hysterical haha! I can't effectively read the logo on their shirts though.

Those old bastards never looked tired after the Warriors series then went onto destroy the Griz in a sweep. I can say I am a bigger Spurs fan than most of the cHeatPurs fans around here in this thread. Part of the reason I wanted the Spurs to make it to the Finals so I can be somewhat happy even if the Heat lost.

There was one from the top of the key that sure looked like it did to me, when slowed down to frame-by-frame.

EDIT: This video, from 1:54 onwards. That's the angle I'm talking about.

Even better angle from around 2:20 onwards. A screenshot:

It's so incredibly close, but that was the definitive angle that allowed the basket to count. Off his fingertips with the light off.

Judgement Day Round Two begins, should be interesting what adjustments each team makes.

Spo is a great coach. What he lacks in skills he makes up for it by bonding with his players(and ofc w/ great taste in women). Wade and Spo are great together. So are the entire Heat. Let's do this shit now!

Joey Crawford will be among the officials that call Game 2. I'm not happy about that...

Man, Pop's mind games are amazing. Guess he wanted to give the fans back home three straight wins instead of just two to close out the series.

Not surprisingly, an officiating crew that features Joey Crawford results in a pretty badly officiated game. Soft foul calls, much harder contact getting no-calls and other assorted bizarre decisions. At least it went both ways.

That's not what decided the game though. That was a very impressive run by the Heat beginning late in the third, while the Spurs were just ice cold. Duncan and Parker both have to shoot a lot better the rest of the way if the Spurs are to get the job done. They managed to take Game 1 when they shot 41% from the field, but it's not going to work when the Heat are shooting 49%; way too many easy ones around the basket that were missed. Heat meanwhile took care of business.

Strange game from LeBron, but he picked it up in crunch time when a couple of baskets got him going. Ginobili was the player who really struggled though. He had that nice drive and a big three, but he looked really shaky out there with his ballhandling. Wade also had another quiet second half after coming out strong in the first.

Awesome block by LeBron.

I imagine the Spurs are going to shoot better at home and with the next three games to be played in San Antonio, they've got a pretty decent opportunity to take control of the series if they show up. The Heat denied them a golden opportunity here, though. Better to go home with the split than down 0-2, obviously, but up until Miami's big run they looked like they had a shot at heading back to San Antonio up 2-0. It's going to be a battle; I just hope we have a few more competitive games, more along the lines of Game 1.
