I agree, and same with Eddie Jones for that matter. If he wasn't there, Kobe would've been starting from day one. That being said, without Shaq he might've become the best player since Jordan, but I doubt he'd have the rings to go with it.
- Well... u cant win everything I guess. I'm just happy for him that he won those rings with Shaq. Putting the feud and all that aside... they had a great thing going in LA. If only egos could have been pushed to the side, the Lakers' dynasty could have lasted throughout most of the rest of this decade or at least for maybe 2 or 3 more championship years IMO.
As a fan and follower of Kobe, I wouldn't have had it any other way though. Winning those rings with Shaq and the stories that came along with it. It defnitely was a good ride.
Then again, that's all put in the past. When Kobe decided to resign with LA, I was scared that he would be on his own litle crusade to prove himself as a talented individual on the court. If this is the product of that and he is really focusing more on stats than team success, I want to see what he can do when focussing on team goals.
Kudos to him though for working hard and playing well and leading his team this season. However, even though he says in the media that he's all for the team... sometimes I find it hard to believe that. I hope that he can prove me wrong on that.

The Suns are going to let Kobe get his. I believe he averaged in the 40s or high 30s against us this season. But the Suns still won by double digits in the game Kobe scored 51. In fact, the Suns won every game against the Lakers in double digits except for the one where they lost.
I honestly don't see how the Lakers would win this series. People say the game slows down in the playoffs...well, it didn't last year. The Suns handed it to the Grizzlies in 4 and Mavs in 6 playing Suns' style of ball. And they still played up-tempo against San Antonio, except the Spurs matched it. Anyway, the Lakers aren't a team that is skilled nor experienced enough to slow down the Suns' style of play.
The Suns are as healthy as they've been all year...bring it on!
Suns in 5

Achievement-wise, Kobe will never come close to Jordan's level IMO.
But if we are talking about skills/talent, they not incomparable. As assertive and determined he is, Kobe is occasionally a better scorer( as Jordan admitted), but Jordan was always smarter, more athletic and a better defender. Overall, Jordan will still be the better player at the end of the day, and Kobe will be remembered as a top3 player in the Laker history.

2 point game. Early in the game I was thinking to myself "Damn it feels like we are down by 20 but its only 10." Now the game is tied.
Hopefully the guys can steal this one.

Kobe is really playing a different style of game today.....kinda like it.....but i think he wil turn it up just a little in the 4th......Lamar is also having a really good game...showing Marion whos is the better role player......

Refs just messing up game. The guy clearly fouled Kobe and there was no call which lead to free throws for Phoenix. I hate it whenever refs mess up critical plays at the end of games. Now the game is out of reach even with the 3-pointer he just hit. This sucks really bad.
It feels like every bad call goes against LA.
EDIT: Bryant even has a swelling on the side of his head after the play.

That was terrible.

Suns win. Nash hits the clutch 3 with a minute remaining, Bryant misses multiple clean looks, Lakers have a 6 minute drought with only 1 field goal in the fourth, and Brian Cook fucked himself.

LMAO, tell that to every team who played a playoff game against the Lakers during their championship run.
It was definitely a bad call, but get over it. Overall, it was a very fairly called game. There are going to be more bad calls in this series for both teams, but it will all even itself out eventually. I'm not looking forward to the games in LA..

They should get robots as like refs. lol

Nothing. However, it has everything to do with Karma.

Karma doesn't even exist so how does everything have anything to do with karma?

I don't care how ballanced the officiating was trough the whole game...the fact is, they simply fucked things up for LA at the
end of the game.

kobe will never be on MJ level only one person can be on that level or above that level is 22 years old player who already make a impact average 20 points on his first Rookie season, third season his name on the MVP list, youngest player to have All-Star Game MVP which is Lebron James. Lebron will be up there with Magic, Bird, MJ or Wilt one of the greatest legend when he retired.
my prediction: lakers can kiss 2nd round playoff goodbye and start training for 06-07 season.

You wish, Lakers will make the second round....owh and Kobe's gonna get the MVP award too.
Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:12 am
Lebron is 21

.

For now: Kobe>Lebron
Why..cause he scored 3 points per game more during the season?

Stats aren't everything. LeBron may be a better all around player, like getting more rebounds and assists but Kobe is the most overall talented player in the game right now.
Tue Apr 25, 2006 10:17 am
Can't Lebron also be credited with kind of making the people around him better? Kobe doesn't do so much of the roleplaying such as rebounding and assisting.
Tue Apr 25, 2006 10:59 am
This is very funny....i wounder what the refs think about this......just sad that Kobe didnt get the foul called on him...he WILL prove wednesday to all the Suns why he is the true MVP...
