I too think Duke will be too good, but hoping Butler can cause the upset

Great game. Bummer result. Would have loved to see Hayward make that shot. Really hope he ends up on the Blazers, even if he is just a Luke Walton clone.

Butler played better than I expected.

I blame Matt Howard. He should have cleared the key on that Hayward drive, instead he brought his defender towards Haywards drive and made it easier for Duke to contest his drive, forcing the baseline fallaway.

For some reason, I'm really surprised Duke won the whole thing, even with the #1 seed and with Coach K's rep. I didn't think they had the impact talent to win it, I mean, Scheyer's an excellent college floor general and Singler could be a nice role player (stretching up into the solid starter category) in the pros, but wow.

Suck it, Duke winning in 2001 is what made me fall in love with basketball, I'm allowed to see them win again and gloat about it.

I'm really happy that Butler was at least able to get open shots to win it though.

As good as that joke is, it isn't even a Coco original. Greg Gumble actually coined that after Butler beat Syracuse or Kansas State, I don't remember which.

Was a good Final. Definitely better than a blow out, which is what I expected. I'm fairly content with the result but as many will say, would have been awesome for Butler to have won it.

I never expected a blowout like many others, but thought Duke would pull away in last 10 minutes, but glad Butler held strong. A shame they had somebody my height guarding that chump Singler.

The disappointment of the game for me (aside from Butler not winning of course) is that they didn't have Gus Johnson as CBS' commentator. Why on Earth not? He would've made the game infinitely more enjoyable.

Yep, Duke wasn't that talented a team individually, but they had experience, composure & Zoubek used his size to help the Blue Devils get the result.

As for Singler, he sucks. He will not pan out in the NBA. I've seen "good" college players like him & they just don't work against elite NBA athletes, & neither will he. Some idiot GM will waste a 1st Round pick on him & to me he's more Rick Rickert than Keith Van Horn (N)

He looks like a nice player. I'd need to see a bit more of him, but he looks like he could be a good role player. Comparison is probably a slightly more athletic Austin Croshere. He'll return to college either way, so I should get more of a chance to see him play over the next year or two.

Gordon Hayward could be like Derrick McKey. Put in order to be on the court he needs to shoot the ball. Because he struggled with that late in the season.

He can pass, create and has above average athleticism for a 6'8 wing playmaker. But he has to shoot the ball to be effective because he is not strong enough to defend anyone in the NBA.
2013 is the year?

Hayward can shoot. When he's team's 3rd or 4th option on the court, he won't have problems knocking down the open jumper.

Not really NCAA but soon enough.

Duke Bound Austin Rivers showing why he is the top player in the nation, just destroying Amare Stoudemire's Alumni Cypress Creek High School, Going off for 43 points in only 3 quarters of play. Oh and he guaranteed it before the game!
he has 43 points and 0 passes.....!!!!!
