2011 Playoffs: (8) Grizzlies vs. (4) Thunder

Postby [Q] on Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:37 pm

anybody think Memphis has a shot? I think so. They got the size to matchup with the Thunder frontline with Gasol & Randolph, and Battier will do what he can to slow Durant, and Tony Allen can be put on Westbrook to frustrate him. I say Grizz in 6.

They have a shot, but I think the tables turn & OKC gets it in 6.

Thunder in 6. Ibaka keeps getting better the longer this season goes. I'm confident he can give Randolph a much tougher time than the Spurs did.

Memphis won the season series 3-1. But the combined winning margin of those 3 games was 15 points. And 2 of those were before the Perkins trade.

It's hard to believe you beat Lamrock to this thread.

Randolph or Gasol. Both will be abused by Perkins. Just like Nene and Martin were kept to pretty ordinary games. Thunder in 5.

I've already underestimated the Grizzlies once this postseason so I'm not about to rule them out, but when it comes down to it I think the Thunder are good enough to get the job done and they'll have homecourt advantage to boot. Thunder in six, wouldn't be shocked if it went to seven.

Ugh. How did I forget to make this poll? I always blow my chance to go 15/15. Anyway, I got Memphis in 6. They're hot, can D up OKC's two biggest scorers and are just damn good.

Thunder in 6. I think they probably would have swept the Spurs, which would have been more disheartening for San Antonio than the first round exit is. As it is, Memphis are younger and more offensively potent than San Antonio, but Kendrick Perkins will be the difference-maker here.

Amazing to think that one of these teams is going to the WCF. It's good for the NBA.

And a good advertisement for relocation! (Y)

i don't think the northwest area will get another team any time soon. no one's trying to move there unless they get a new arena built and expansion is out of the picture, especially with the recent talks about how they should retract the bad teams.

I think these series will be really really interesting. Two young teams, full of motivation and freshness going against each other for the WCF position. I bet we're going to see some nice matches.

Memphis is really on a roll right now. Beating the Western leaders, playing really confident and with passion.Z-Bo is hot, Gasol can be a nice match-up for Perkins and Tony Allen is a big surprise.

OKC on the other hand has a great offensive line-up with Durant,Westbrook and Co, and also another big surprise on Serge Ibaka.

I think this one will go far probably on 7 games.OKC in 7,but I don't find it so difficult for Memphis to make an upset.

Thanks. Sorry, Lamrock has made it a tradition to add bad jokes. I naturally voted for the bad joke (Y)

I've got Thunder in 6. They're going to the NBA Finals this year :P

Thunder in 6, i love the Grizz but I don't think they can keep it up, especially since the series is starting Sunday.

Perkins would be a nightmare to Randolph, who is top player on that team, that will affect the series, but i think the grizz are more inspire and the crowd is sure to be wild after that upset series win over Spurs

if you saw any of the shots he was hitting at the end of games over Duncan & McDyess you would know Ibaka (who would most likely matchup with him) & Perkins probably won't make much of a difference ZBo will still get his

and i'm thinking at this point an injured Gay would actually hurt Memphis by coming back. he was still in a sling last night.

Nope, he's out.

OKC might lose a couple of games, but at the end of the day, they're a much better team. They're going to get torched down low, though. OKC in 6.

I like Lamrock's title better and thus will not vote in Q's sham of a thread.

lolwut? The Grizz are better without Gay. The only reason to play him would be for management to not look like idiots in giving him that contract.
