Why are the Magic sucking again?

Postby Ra$hard_Lewi$ on Mon Jan 14, 2008 12:22 pm

This trend seems to happen every year, The Magic always get off to a hot start but will eventually collapse again and will either miss the playoffs or get the 8th seed. I thought things would be different with Stan Van Gundy but the collapse seems inevitable. Is it because the Magic don't have a legitimate PF and SG? Is it their mediocre PG? or is it SVG's refusal to play JJ Redick?

Discuss.

they need a PG that can create plays unlike the inconsistent nelson and the overshooting arroyo and the ninja dooling,i wish jameer should start thinking of taking over a game, and JJ should play! :x

The problem with Redick is that he gets injured before the season starts, which results in him dropping out of rotation and never coming back ;)

Personally, I think that with a helping hand in Lewis, the Magic should steady if they jump on Dwight Howard's back (which they are doing, of course) and hope he doesn't get injured. They might finish with a 3, 4 seed this season.

What's wrong is that JJ Redick isn't playing.

What's wrong is that JJ Redick plays defense as well as the swiss cheese that JR Smith calls defense.

The Magic have been lucky at the beginning of the season before people caught on that they're a Dwight+3point shooters team. Now defenses have been able to keep them from shooting 3s so from now to the end of the season they will live and die by the 3. or Dwight's FT shooting.

lol, that isn't a majority....if they had actually lost more games than they had won in their last 10 then that would be a majority. If we did it by your thinking then they would've won the majority of their last 10 games too...

All teams have little slumps. Dwight will dominate and they will win every game for the rest of the season. :P

They are 1st place alright but the Wizards have managed to close the gap just trailing 2 games without Arenas and the Magic has so far stunked all over the place.

They always seem to lose if the 3 ball ain't going down which they really rely on so much (Lewis 7.2 3PA, Bogans 5.8 3PA, Hedo 5.6 3PA) Their schedule has been pretty crappy too with so many road games which has led to inconsistency at home. They even almost lost to the Heat without Shaq!

They did start 16-4 and has been 7-12 since.

they only won 1 game in january,,, against the LAC,,
5-5 in last ten is a struggle for a team that leads their division and 3rd in their conference :mrt:

ofcourse they do, even the spurs are struggling now, but
if you've been watching the magic over the years, they always have good nov-dec and bad jan-march, from t-mac era to hill-dwight they always manage to get on top in the first 2 months and loose to0 many games, as a magic fan i'm concerned about their struggle now...

hopefully they win their games against CHI and CHA, and hopefully that the scrubs of chi and cha don't have a good game, because scrubs always manage to play well against the magic...here's the recent proofs,
tim thomas 20pts 5asts (LAC),
anthony carter 21pts 11 asts (DEN),
Bostjan Nachbar 13pts 5reb 4asts (NJ),
rafer alston 20pts 8 asts (HOU) who averages 11 and 5
quincy douby 14pts 2stl (SAC)

:D

Don't you forget about those buzzer beaters! The scrubs always makes them against the Magic! example: Jason Hart

JJ Redick lol? He's not exactly going to put your team over the top. I'm assuming that was sarcasm though.

Since the Magic's game relies on 3 pointers, at least they can use his stroke.

His 3.6ppg was the majority of Orlando's team scoring so I guess he would be useful.

staying calm and playing with more heart and intensity during pressure situations could be an answer

C'mon guys. It's only a little losing streak. Things will even out in the end. Utah is hot this last 10 games (and won 3 in a row), are they going to win the Finals now? Ra$hard_Lewi$, buzzer beaters mean nothing. That's just bad luck, which will most likely even out within the course of 82 games.

And Toronto is the fifth seed and they are 5-5. Oh no! The Raptors are sucking (although they have won 3 in a row). Someone be so kindly to make a thread called "Why are the Raptors sucking again?". That would be very appreciated.

No wonder the Magic are so bad.

What if you could learn shooting from perhaps the best shooter in basketball history. JJ Redick.

I crack up with virtuous consistency everytime that ostentacious commercial comes on.

Yeah maybe it was premature in making this thread but for a team that started 16-4, 7-12 seems really bad. Maybe it's just me getting pissed because of the constant losing though :( .
