Oh, and Elton Brand was a Superstar on the Clippers(for one year). That's how he became an All Star. That's how they got to the second round. Too bad he decided to play in the NBA Europe thing instead of continuing his off season conditioning work, which was what helped him slim down before the 05-06 season and become such a beast.
Anyways, with the Clippers it's always too little too late when they get those key players for a good supporting cast like Sam Cassell, Mark Jackson, as they are too old to really do anything long term. Look at Baron Davis. He's about to be 30 and has barely played a season with LA. How does a guy shooting %40 for his career help a team? And Iverson?
I always supposed that a superstar was like top 5 in the NBA, although thinking back to Brand's best year he may well have been around top5, I recall some MVP whispers.
I agree, Baron Davis was a stupid idea, but Iverson is a major steal while his reputation is down yet still capable of:
07-08
26.4 ppg
.458 fg% (highest since 97-98)
2.99 turnovers per game (lowest ever)
.345 trey% (2nd highest of career)
82 games
Although I've since heard that Miami is interested in AI and I sure would like to see Wade and AI in the same team
