Kevin Love to be TRADED(?)

Jesse Johnson/USA TODAY Sports:
Kevin Love has told the Timberwolves that he is not interested in a long-term deal to stay in Minnesota, according to sources.

Kevin Love has made it clear to the Timberwolves that he intends to become an unrestricted free agent after next season and has no interest in a contract extension this summer to stay in Minnesota, according to sources with knowledge of the situation

Looking how the Wolves fared during the last couple of seasons it was just a matter of time that Love went on to explore other options.

Yeah, not surprised. Only matter of time before he gets traded.

Kevin Love is a number producer, not someone who can lead a team as a contender. He is a star, don't get me wrong, but not yet a superstar. I hope he proves me wrong.

That's why Minnesotta didn't give him 5 years and why they're going to trade him. He established Minnesotta as a solid team that's improved since KG left. And yet people say they did a bad job(this is going to depend on the trade as well) with Love.

Minnesota was a shitty place for him. When the management offended him a few years go, Love said he'll remember it.

I really want this kid in Miami, for Bosh or Wade. Or Portland, Chicago, New York. I can't wait to see him in a new uniform.

Chicago would be a nice fit and he can replace Boozer. Him and Noah can dominate the glass and he can spread the floor on offense.

If the knee holds up. *fingers crossed*

I'd be all for that, though I'm not too confident of it happening. It sounds like he has some interest in going to Chicago, but as the article notes, they don't really have the assets to get a deal done without putting Love in a similar situation to the one he's in right now in Minnesota, albeit in the weaker Conference. Shame they've already dealt Deng for nothing, though it would've had to have been a sign-and-trade with him anyway.

I don't think Love is durable enough to play 40 minutes per game under Thibs.
It'll probable end up like those T-Mac-Yao Rockets where they spend more time being injured than playing together on the floor.

I have heard Love could go to the Celtics.
"Boston is a great city. I’m sure free agents would love to go there, especially with Stevens as a coach." - Kevin Love during the All-Star break.

Don't worry it'll never happen since Love don't play defense...

Kevin Love is a pretty crappy rim defender but he does have perks here and there. His quick feet allows him to defend perimeter and is a better defender there than lots of other elite post defenders(ie. Asik). And he also is a strong banger downlow and is not shy about it while avoiding to foul. The problem is he can't contend high release shots due to his 6'7" height and raptors arm length.

All in all, I don't think he's no Bargnani who gets consistently singled out by opponent as a defensive loophole, but Love is good enough to be part of successful defensive system, imho.

i dont really want love in boston as crazy as that may sound. unless getting him nets up a major go to guy i think its pointless picking him up

If nothing else, there's the risk that he's gone after the season, wasting the value of whatever picks/players they trade to get him. I imagine that has to be a concern for everyone.

Usually the Lakers were a team to put up that kind of risky deals. With them dropping to #7 in this year's draft and Love's ambitions to get to a winning team, the Lakers' odds are bad.
As for the Bulls I'm not sure what they have to put on the table to get him. They'd have to get rid of Boozer which is likely to happen. They'd still owe Taj too much money to have him coming of the bench for 15 minutes, so they play either Love and Taj together or trade him.
As old Celtics addict Sauru already mentioned, it wouldn't make much sense to sign Love before they pick their new franchise player.
Personally I'd like to see Love with Golden State as a David Lee replacement.

Love is the franchise caliber player.

Problem is Jared Sullinger is black man's Kevin Love so is kinda redundant. Look how he and Jordan Crawford dominated the league before realizing that they're supposed to tank.

Before he realized he was more Crawford than Jordan.

Kevin Love Needs to Improve his Teammate Acquisition Skills, Not his Leadership
Here's an interesting read. I agree that one of the Kevins had better teammates but he also played as a two way player, being a backbone on the defensive end as well while the other one focused entirely on the offensive end.

Bottom line is that the Wolves management never got them good enough talents to be able to compete. Maybe this Kevin also can go to the Celtics and finally gets to compete. So I fully support Kevin to the Celtics movement as a former green bleeder. Might cost them their 6th pick + couple assets though.

I wonder if Houston could pull off a trade without giving up Parsons and Jones.

It takes a real retard on the Wolves' side to aim for that trade.
