NBA Live 2000 Windows 8?

Is there a way to install and run NBA Live 2000 on Windows 8? I forgot I owned the game on PC and really want to try and play 2000 again!

I'd say you'll need to install virtual machine software (such as VMWare) and then create a virtual machine running Windows 95, 98, or XP (which would require an installation disc) to install and run it. That's what I've had to do with Windows 7 64 bit, as NBA Live 2000's installation file is a 16 bit program, and won't run under a 64 bit OS.

Thanks! I was able to install and run 2000 but I am having a problem setting the resolution to full screen. I messed with the settings in VMware but the screen for Live goes past the screen. Any solution for this? Also when reading off the disc it skips a bit, is there a nocd crack for this?

Discussion of No CD cracks is against our rules (and requesting them is actually grounds for an instant ban without warning), so I'm afraid I can't help you out there. Are there any scratches on your disc? Did you perform a full installation? I haven't had any issues like that in VMWare with a full installation.

I've found that copying the dx6z.dll file from NBA Live 2001 (or the NBA Live 2001 demo) as mentioned here definitely does help with video card issues. Here's the file:

dx6z.7z

Place it in the 3rash folder.

I was unaware of the no-cd rule and for that I appologize. I do have a scratch on the disc sadly with no resurfacer. Thanks for the other file, I will definitely use that! I do have a problem with the intro video not displaying correctly aswell. If I do a full install, will it require the cd? I just did a typical install.

No harm done. :)

A custom/full installation should result in minimal loading from the CD; it needs to be in the drive (on startup, at least), but all the required files should be on the hard drive, improving performance.
