Installation problems on XP

Postby fishoutofwater on Sun Apr 13, 2008 11:09 pm

Yeah, so i try to install the game the other night, but it gives me this error message as soon as the installation window pops up, the one with the blueish background. "Unable to locate required file or required file is corrupted(E-Reg)".

Looked around everywhere for already made topics about this without luck, hope you can help me :)

And yes this is a legal copy, with disk and everything, if that matters

Even if you install it successfully, Live 2001 doesn't work on Windows XP as far as I know.

Even though a bit shaky i can play the demo of the game on my pc, so i reckon the full one should work as well

it works on XP..i'm currently playing it. but your problem is with installation so i don't know the solution to that..but in case you installed it already and it doesn't work..you just have to search for the spanish or german exe online..replace the current nbawin.exe from your directory with the new exe..it will work..if this work..i'll give you the 07-08 roster that i created..

yeah well i havent installed it so i dont have a nbawin.exe on my harddrive to start with, so i cant replace it unless you mean i should replace the one on the install/playing disk, if that's possible.. i'm not good at these sort of things :X

Telling details about your problem would be a big help in solving your problem.

My problem is that when I open the Live, I got an error report. Maybe because my video or sound card was too low for this game...what do you think?

Or any comments bout this?

never heard of a version of live that uses image files of CD's..if this software is included in the CD of live you own..then..that only means you've purchased an illegal copy..

^ Shouldn't this dude be banned for a certain amount of time because he posted a crack (I assume it was a crack that's why the link was removed).

the_kaiser is your copy of Live pirated? Be honest.

He was banned for linking to a crack. I'm not sure if it will be temporary, though.

Forgive me for my backseat moderating. I got confused with the date/time of his post that's why I thought he was still going around in the forums.

Sir, my Live 2001 is definitely not pirated.

My CD was just a birthday gift from my friend abroad a few months ago...
I started to install it only last week because the electricty here in the Philippines goes higher...so economically speaking, I'd would just play Live in PC rather than in my ps2...also my NBA CD doesnt have that magicISO thing...Im just curious whats that and if that would help my problem...

Thanks!

Compatibility mode is not effective. You have to BUY the spanish version of NBA Live 2001 to make it work on XP.

Remember..do not support pirated copies.
