Paid 19,99€ for 2K15 as Pre-Order. Won't pay anything more than that. 70€ for the Rip-Off Edition must be a joke o_0

So, they are doing the MJ edition for PC. Since I'm double-dipping, I pre-ordered the MJ edition on PS4.

And since I am double-dipping, I think I'll wait for a special offer on Green Man Gaming before I place the PC pre-order.

Gawd, I told myself I won't be getting NBA 2K16 until a sale... First time I've seen any news about it and I'm freakin' hyped already... Uwah. My poor wallet.

yep I got the message about pre-purchase in steam yesterday. and if my memory doesn't fail me in Russia we can buy it for approx. 1.8k rubles for standard and 2.7K rubles for MJ edition. according current exchange course it will be $31 and $47 respectively. 2K15 was cheaper in rubles (I think it was approx 1.2K rubles for pre-order) but exchange course was lesser so I think the price is almost the same in USD. I guess I'll pre-order it after my vacation in august

That is just my speculation, but I would imagine VC will continue to be a prominent part of the game, and to that end, I would imagine that that element will continue to be online only.

Even if don't play online, you can earn VC through offline game modes. You just have to have an active connection, which you should have with Steam anyway.

What?

Game prices are rising out of nowhere in some countries. I'm not gonna be pre-ordering the game because the game costs $80 CAD.

I wonder why. Games are still 60 in the US. Same as they've been since 2005.

If you don't have a large data plan, how do you plan on downloading a 60gb game in the first place?

Canadian dollar has been shit lately, so prices for imported goods have been rising up. I guess it is sort of the game in other countries but not too severe. (unless if you are in a bankrupt yuro country like Greece lel.)

In my country Steam have the following price range: $29,99 for the NBA 2K16 standard edition, the Michael Jordan edition costs $39,99. It's a cause, why the Western throws eggs at us for this constantly dumping) But I will not buy the Steam version ever been because I don't have a powerful PC, I don't have any Windows PC. Xbox One forever! ;)

Though $30 probably is more to you than to an US citizen?

Around here average PC game price is $40, some AAA titles being $50 and console games being $70 (plus something).

The price start at $30 for a PC title is no too cheaper here, but just imagine an amount of earning/buying VC in the field of terrible 2K macro- (micro)transactions— It is even worse. ;(

All people in this thread need to keep in their mind that 2K don't translate its basketball into the mainly my region's language (Russian). Up to 95% people here don't know foreign languages, and it will be a worthless purchase for those of them. Like a Japanese only game for mostly of Americans. It will be a few bucks or 60, it's no matter, you won't buy it. :)

Also in Eastern Europe soccer and hockey are more popular than basketball. This case is transferred into video games. People buy these sports sims more better. FIFA have localization with local commentators, PES and NHL are translated too. 2K or Live are not. )

To be honest and be the one with Canadians, in last 2 years price of an AAA PC game at the start here has been increased by 2-2,5 times ('thanks to' aggressive marketing politic of EA, Ubisoft, 2K etc.). There was $10-15 for a day one copy, but there is $25-30 or even more now. ;)
