hair detail lvl defaults back to low?

when i set hair detail level to high in video options, it defaults back to low when i close video options and go back to it. is this just me?

I dont know why but i dont have that hair detail setting. Even in the .cfg file. Anyway just want to share how i fixed mine specifically for the quality of the beard and hair. Set your AA to 4x.
