NBA2K16 PC Stuttering

Talk about NBA 2K16 here.

Re: NBA2K16 PC Stuttering

For those of you that are experiencing stuttering, can you please reply with your DxDiag.txt and VideoSettings.cfg file attached (preferrably zipped together)? Are you an Nvidia or AMD owner?

You can get a DxDiag.txt by running dxdiag (just press the Windows key or click on the start menu and type in dxdiag and run it) and then click on "Save All Information..."
You can get your VideoSettings.cfg by opening Explorer and going to %appdata%\2K Sports\NBA 2K16.

Also, if you open your VideoSettings.cfg file in Notepad, do you see your main graphics card (AMD/NVidia) there or is it the onboard one (e.g. Intel)?

Another thing, does switching to Full Screen Windowed instead of Full Screen help?

I'll try to pass on as much information as I can.

Hi Leftos!

Can you also investigate why some of us are seeing the icon passing glitch where the icons are all over the place, different sizes, and in general unusable.

And is it by design that you dont get any shot feedback (at least a grade of how good the shot was) when using real shooting %?

I really hope you can help with these issues. otherwise the game is amazing.

Thanks a lot!!!

Don't hijack the topic please. These questions have nothing to do with stuttering, and I'd like to be able to easily collect information to pass on without having to shift through unrelated stuff. If you want to start a new thread, feel free.

I'm sorry Leftos.

I have started a topic on the icon passing problem in this forum, So if you could reply or confirm you have taken note of these very real problems I would appreciate it.

Cause right now I feel like I have been short-changed and your badly toned reply when I was being polite hasn't helped that.

I don't see how I was badly toned, I was being polite. My first sentence ended in "please", I explained why I'm asking for unrelated posts not to be posted in this thread, and I encouraged you to start a new thread.

Let's agree to disagree,

Good luck with the stuttering problem, and the rest of the launch, and congrats as well, as the game plays beautifully apart from these problems.

Edit
I have attached my DXDiag and Vid Settings in both the icon passing thread and attached to this reply too, as you can use it for the stuttering problem too.

I only get stuttering on the pre-game show, Gameplay is a smooth 60fps. (i5 k @ 3.6, gtx 970, w7)

Maybe forcing game to work on 30 fps via Nvidia Inspector can help with stuttering

I am feeling pretty confident that the stuttering issues I am having are caused by audio, or crowd.

When I play a scrimmage with no commentary and no crowd, just music playing, the game is flawless.

When I play under play now and crank everything to the minimum I still have stuttering. Drops from 60 FPS to 45 FPS and on the rare occasion 40 FPS. Cut scenes are 60 FPS and silky smooth.

I am going to disable audio drivers and try play now and see how it goes.

AMD R9 280 X GPU
AMD A-10 5800 K CPU

EDIT: Disabled Audio drivers, didn't make a difference, completely shut off crowd which equated to a slight improvement. Tried scrimmage again and it was still flawless.

I started by trying to use the settings I played at in 2k15, but the game was unplayable (~45 fps in gameplay). I know for sure I can get 60 fps with bare minimum settings, perhaps a tiny bit higher as well but I haven't had time to test.

Whenever I set supersampling to 0, the game wants to reset it to 1. Don't know how much that is affecting things. I've attached my dxdiag and video settings (when I was at the bare minimum getting 60 fps).

Funny that while in online mode (Play Now) the game runs smooth as hell with no stuttering whatsoever.

Leftos, is it possible to find out what are the video settings for online?

First game I experienced stuttering Pistons v. Pacers. I turned audio to "On Court" and second game with two Euroleague teams and the stuttering was gone.

Good luck finding the cause and thanks for helping Leftos.
