I hope they didn't pay Spike Lee too much for this garbage. I could've written a more compelling story than this idiot.

Whatever the games budget was, you can believe "Livin' Da Dream" got a big chunk of it. MoCap isn't cheap. Let's just hope it was a learning experience and we never have to "Liv Da Dream" Again.

Not worth it going through the HS/College games for me. But can speed up the process by holding the intentional foul button on defense (be sure to only do it in live-ball situations and not offense lest you call a timeout), calling for the ball on offense and throwing up half-court shots. You'll drop in the draft, but no big deal, it's all about getting to season 2 faster anyway. Still takes about 30 mins total...but most of that is loading/saving which you would have to bear anyway.

After finishing Livin' da Dream, i have to apologize to Andrew and everyone else who said MyCareer is same for every one. You we're right.
What will your story be like, Spike Lee said. Well, I can't have my story. Even though I like this, High School, College, NBA, i am still sad that there are no decision which you make.

This was how I imagined MyCareer. plus= is what I thought, minus=isn't what I thought
+Picking High school
+Play few games
+Picking College
+Play few games
-Decide would you like to enter draft or nah. If answer is no, play one more year one college, and then you get to chose again.
-Draft Combine
-Talking to GM's
-Having a chance to win a rookie of the year
-Playing in Euroleague
-Being released
-Playing in D-League
-Having cut scenes trough whole career.

But there are some surprises like connections, practices and endorsements, which are good.
Also, name one NBA role player with 55 overall...

You forgot Summer League, Samke. I truly expected that I'd have to play at least a few games in the NBA Summer League after the NBA Draft. And I think 2K probably wanted to do that but cut it. Why? Because during the pre-game of your first MyCareer game, the assistant coach comes into the locker room and says, "We've already seen some of what they can do for us," after he mentions the "new faces" on the team.

Some people have claimed to have won the RotY award, but I'll venture a guess they either bought enough VC to hit 88 overall or used CE to hit 99 overall... Just a guess, though.

And no one in the NBA is a 55 overall - not even Javale McGee, and I think he was featured on Shaqtin' a Fool more than anyone last season.

JaVAAAAAAALE McGee!

2K really should have just called this NBA 2K17 because THAT'S the year you actually get to play the real game. You only play 8 games in 2016, so the 2016 roster is pretty much wasted. Anyone with only 1-year remaining on their contract is probably gone to free-agency or possibly even retired for the 2017 season. And what do you get to replace those players? Some craptastic 2K-generated draft class full of scrubs...

Oh yeah, Summer League. I still remember how hyped I was when I saw that image and TBM's thread here, Summer League is back!
I thought it will be featured in MyCareer, but MyGM and MyLeague only..
About new faces, I agree. Well you were practicing whole summer with team, right? Ain't so new..
If 2015-2016 is your first NBA year, that means that story starts in 2013-2014. I think that was idea.
I suggest to everyone to watch Livin Da Dream trailer again. It doesn't look so dope now :)

It's the nature of the approach. There's a story arc in mind, key scenes that they want people to see, and thus branching options were going to be limited or non-existent. As I said before, we weren't hating...those were valid concerns, which unfortunately were well-founded. Honestly, I'd rather have been wrong and pleasantly surprised, or at the very least, seen other people who are more open to that approach enjoying it even if I didn't.

I still think we need the option to skip the story entirely (even if future stories do have more branching), to get right into the good stuff that MyCAREER does have on offer, and avoid elements of the mode we don't like. Once again, I'd use MyGM and MyLEAGUE as a comparison.

It's not that JaVale is unskilled. He is good player, he just have many brain cramp moments caused by poor decision making and poor awareness at times. Remember, even the big small Nate Robinson said h should've been the Dunk Champion.

That is exactly what happens. When you create a new MyCareer player, you can actually see the date is October 2013 after creation. Exit to the Main Menu screen after Spike Lee's intro video instead of going straight into the first High School game, then move to MyCareer and press Y (manage files) to select which MC player you want to play and you can see the exact date. You can do this between each and every game to see how much time is passing between games during both the High School and College portions of MC, as well as the calendar date for MC players who are presently in the NBA.

And Dommy, McGee is no scrub, but he's still raw and his game needs work. A year or two of dedicated gym work and film study with the right coaching and he could become a very dependable role player. I don't think he'll ever reach star status, nor become a starter, but he definitely could become a very solid bench player. Presently, his athleticism isn't enough to overcome some fundamental flaws.
