Verify Game Files

Postby fumanchu on Sat Oct 03, 2015 8:22 am

I'm not sure where this belongs but i just bought the game from Steam.

Steam ID: fumanchu09

However, my internet is slow. i have a friend who has already downloaded the files from steam. can i just copy his files and have steam client verify the files? if so, where should i put the files on my computer?

Thanks!

I'd say so, as long as you've activated your key through Steam.

In Steam, your games are stored under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.

you can use the backup and restore feature in steam. tell your friend to make a backup and then restore it on your pc/laptop. Its easier that way and you dont need to verify cache files anymore. I did this with my laptop to my other PC :)

so i was able to do it...instead of downloading the whole 40gb from Steam, i asked someone who has already finished downloading it to create a backup through steam and i capied that backup and used the restore feature in steam to install it in my PC. All is working now. :D
