Looks Better Than 2K16

Postby EmazingErik on Wed Mar 02, 2016 4:13 pm

Does anyone else think that LIVE 16 has better player models, especially legends? I think so, whenever I see the legends I'm just like damn, did they scan their face/head back in the day because they're all top notch. It seems like 2K just makes a quick base head and applies a photo they found somewhere and quickly mapped it on the player head. LIVE seems like they took their time and really modeled the faces/heads really well. Check Iverson in 2K16 and check Iverson in LIVE 16. Big difference.

I know the eyes in Live are much better than in 2k.

I prefer Lives graphics over 2K. 2K's lighting is atrocious.

I think NBA Live 16 holds its own visually, despite the common "PS2 graphics" comments. When you zoom in on the players, body models and scanned faces in particular are pretty on-point. The environments, the courts, are also very nice.

That said, I believe there are issues with the size of the players relative to the court, and/or the zoom on the gameplay camera angles. You don't really get a sense of how good the players look during gameplay; only when you go into instant replay and zoom in. That's an issue I feel needs to be addressed, one way or the other, as it makes a good first impression.

If they can make the player pop like they did in Live 09, I think it would solve the detail problem. When I make my video I play with some filters, and it's very possible to get the graphics to pop like that with this new generation of NBA Live. Might have to do a few videos to show them

There's that too, but generally speaking, I don't have issues with the lighting and "atmosphere" of NBA Live's visuals. In fact, as long as I'm enjoying the gameplay, I can put up with aesthetic quirks, but the size/zoom on players does feel like an issue.

No argument here. But again, there's an issue with the zoom of the camera, and/or the size of the players, in addition to that.

Would be nice if they could add what 2k has, the ability to look around the arena when we're on the bench. I miss checking out the babes.

I wish we get a mode for "customizing" players so we can go in to the roster and be able to see all the details of the players face scans and whatnot not only for current players but Legends. Right now I have to have the legends in Ultimate Team and go play a game, pause the game, go into instant replay just to zoom in on the legends faces to appreciate how they look. I don't know if that made sense but I wish they had something like 2K's where you can edit them. Hoping for it in NBA Live 17.

Roster editing is something that a lot of us definitely want to see return.

I'd still say that it's a 50/50 chance since we have asked for it for the last two years unsuccessfully but it's something that I feel needs to be there as the system they have in place just isn't working and it wouldn't be as bad if they had Mike from 2k doing it as I know his rosters are on point daily but EA'S once a week roster where players/rosters and accessories are often way off it just doesn't work.

It's hard to say. They're taking some extra time to develop NBA Live 17, which I hope is going towards the depth modes and functionality such as roster editing. I'd like to think that that increases the chances at least a little.

I'm gonna say it's a 70% chance that's it back in. Just by seeing what NHL did, man I know these guys see the possibilities and want to give us the same thing. I really hope they give us ratings editing also. The ability to slap on whatever shoe we want on an NBA player should be our choice. With the amount of detailed accessories they put in the game, we should be able to enjoy them and scroll through them.

It's one of those things where a few small changes can make a big difference. A couple of changes to dunk packages, some shoe and accessory updates that were missed by the official roster, a jersey number correction...I can attest to it being very easy to overlook a detail here and there when maintaining roster updates, but when we can all make quick changes and corrections ourselves, it needn't be as frustrating an issue.
