I don't think the NBA will allow EA to release the game cheaper than the competition. There might be something in the contract that prevents that. I can't remember where I saw it at

I think I read or heard that somewhere as well. I believe it went along with both games getting the same release date so companies didn't have an unfair advantage.

Personally, I think that players asking for a street title is a positive thing when they are talking about pro am. I am willing to bet that pro am is something that the nba wanted in the games and it could be why do, much attention went into it. It's a great pick up and play experience coupling pro am and live run, and it is pretty addicting once you start progressing and your player can really start making things happen on the court. They can go anywhere from including tournaments, squad selection, and hopefully a lot more meaningful unlockables. I think they like the concept, but it's still lacking depth. What am I going to do when I beat all the courts and unlock everything?

I believe I heard something about Digital only releases being able to be released at cheaper prices. Which would be smart for a NBA street title.

It certainly worked for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.

Yeah, but it was supposed to be packaged with NBA Live

That was NBA Jam, the 2010 release. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition was always going to be a standalone, digital-only release. They skipped that year with Live.
