Tutorial: How to install mods

How to install mods
We all know installing mods this series is different, so I would like to make a tutorial for everybody.
I hope all of the modders will release IFFs rather than texture.
So let's get started.

For Modders (I hope we make this uniform)
Add installation notes
Code:
[b]Archive: [/b]
[b]Archive Name: [/b]

Let's make my 1st release an example.
Archive: 1I (Shoes)
Archive Names: unknown_243850 & unknown_161226

Step 1: Make sure NBA 2K15 is closed.
Step 2: Install 2K15 Explorer by gregkwaste (I hope you know how to Install)
Step 3: Make backup of the indicated Archive (Example is 1I) and 0A always since the tool is not yet stable.
Step 4: Run NBA2K_Explorer.exe as admin.
Image
Step 5: Click Options->Preferences then Preferences window will show up.
Image
Step 6: Make sure you select the Archive that the modder indicate (Example is 1I) then Save Settings and close the Preferences window.
Image
Step 7: Click File->Load Archives wait until the archives is loaded, you can see it on the status bar on how many archives were detected (Example is 366357) located at lower left.
Image
Image
Step 8: Double Click or Click the small arrow button on the indicated [url]Archive[/url] and the Sub-Archives will load.
Image
Step 9: Click Archive Name header so it will be sorted by Archive Names, now you can easily find the Archive Name indicated by the modder (Example is unknown_243850 & unknown_161226).
Image
Step 10: When you find the Archive Name (Example is unknown_243850) [url]Right Click[/url] on the archive row then [url]Import Archive[/url] then [url]Select .iff file[/url] window will appear.
Image
Image
Step 11: Select the iff you've downloaded (Example is j3_final.iff) then Open (I recommend importing it 1 by 1 because when I import 2 at time I encounter problem)
Image
Step 12: Click [url]Import Scheduler[/url] tab on upper right corner of the tool and you'll see that importing is schedule.
Image
Image
Step 13: Click [url]File->Apply Changes[/url] and wait till the [url]Import Scheduler[/url] tab is empty, this means importing is successful and on the status bar on how many archives were detected (Example is 366357).
Image
Image
Image
Step 14: If you want to install another mod you can start from [url]Step 8[/url] (Example is still we need to import the iff to unknown_161226).
Step 15: You can close the tool or not then open the game NBA 2K15.

Happy modding guys! Hope this helps.
Just comment if you encounter some problem or you want to add something.

Can I use this on a legal online copy of 2k15 without any issues or potentially being suspended or banned for life?

Jonny2k, Like TBM says, all of patchers here have legal copy I guess. NLSC don't support pirates.

How do I open .iff files?

I've just been editing textures than .iff files.

EmazingErik, I didn't try to open it on other program, but I just export and import it using the tool.

Erik you don't have to ask same thing on multiple threads.
iff's are archives. Export textures (dds) from iff files by using greg's tool, and then use photoshop to edit dds textures.

How do I know which ones to replace though, like for example which one is Kevin Love in 0G?

You recgnize it :)
Also there is an order (1. Arena stuff, 2. Floor, 3. Faces...)

2KWatcher, Yes when it comes to faces, it's the default rotation if you check the rotation page. I mean like this. PG, SG, SF, PG, C and bench players. So if you're looking for star player it should be on the top 5.

Thank you for the help! I've successfully installed 2 of the 3 parts to Amaro's home Hawks uniform but now I can't seem to import anything else. The tool is stuck on the "importing iff File over: " line and won't progress any further. Do you know any fixes to this issue?

EDIT: Never mind, seems that now I have to click apply to get it start working

Amaro never made Hawks jersey. You probably mean Arnau. :D
