MyNBA2K15 Android app

Postby jmmontoro on Fri Mar 20, 2015 2:27 am

Today the app was updated and as always, since my country for some weird reason is not on the list of countries where the app is available inspite of the game being available, I download the apk directly from third party websites. But since this last update in order for the app to download the necessary files it checks if I have purchased the app (a free purchase is just a proper install through Play Store) but it fails to validate. WTF 2K! How am I supposed to purchase an app you won't let me? And why are countries blacklisted?

This is absurd, I installed Amazon's App Store and MyNBA2K15 from it without any issues, yet 2K support says it's an issue with credit cards :?
I'm obviously the only one on this forum who's country's been blacklisted. Anyone knows where I can check that?

My only suggestion would be to hit up 2K Support. They can be slow in getting back to you, but they're the only ones who can give a definitive answer, and resolve the issue if there is a solution.

They answered, but claiming it's not their fault, which obviously is, and misspelling my country which it was typed in the ticket. Yup, they give a shit.

I'd keep pressing them about that, and hit their representatives up on social media (if you have Facebook and/or Twitter) until you can get a more satisfactory response. Unfortunately, they're really the only ones who can do anything about it; a shame they're not being more helpful.

Getting a reply from Ronnie or Chris is quite an achievement, I tried but I don't expect anything from them. I also hit Jao who I think is about to have me killed since I bother him for everything. Hope to get another reply from support tomorrow and we'll see where this goes. Just pointless that I can buy the game and not the app.

Hilarious, they blame Google and that I should contact them.

Sounds like the buck is going to keep getting passed around; you might be out of luck, unfortunately. I suppose it's worth hitting up Google all the same, exploring all avenues just in case.

I'm done with them, not gonna pursue the issue no more. I get it, it's a petty complaint, doesn't matter how legitimate it is. Found out there's an Amazon App Store which also offers the app and because someone didn't seem to make a mistake in this case, it's available on my country. Never really cared for a second app store, even worse since I heard the updates don't come on a timely fashion, but I'm only in it for the free VC, not the quality of the product. I'm being bluntly bullshitted since I've published apps before and I know first hand that it's the publisher who chooses to filter countries out, so I know chasing Google is an exercise in futility. Insert your favorite insult at 2K here.
