Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

STUTTERING SOLVED! (Hopefully)

Hey NLSC! I believe I have found a fix for stuttering and/or low FPS in NBA 2K15. However, this is NOT a complete 100% fix. It did help me with I'd say 90% of my stuttering in a Quick Game.
:!: FIRST AND FOREMOST, SET YOUR NBA 2K 15 VIDEO SETTINGS (in the options menu) TO WHATEVER YOU THINK SUITS YOU PC! You are welcome to test out other settings before and after this "fix". :!:

1. Google "Game Booster 3.4" (Best Version IMO before that Razer Crap) and download it anyway you can find it. (softpedia, filehippo etc.)
2. Run it and Hit Switch to BOOST. Image
3. "CONFIGURE" and CHECK processes within the list that simply do not need to run while you are gaming, like my DFX audio program shown here. Image
4. After that is done, hit APPLY, and then BOOST! Let it work, and it will minimize to tray.

5.NVIDIA USERS ONLY FOR THIS DEMONSTRATION: (AMD USERS USE CATALYST CONTROL PANEL) Open up the Nvidia Control Center, and Navigate to "Mange 3D Settings" and hit "ADD" and search for "NBA2K15.exe" and hit "Add Selected Program" Image
6. ...Continued: Navigate to "Power Management Mode" and Select "Prefer Maximum Performance" Then Enable "Triple Buffering" "ON" Image

Start The Game and give it a shot! Remember, TWEAK with you In-Game Video Settings to find the best performance for you, and your PC. GOOD LUCK! :D

It has done wonders for me, and on other PC's I've used it with. Yep, try the other steps. Hopefully everyone gets an improvement out of this.

I've long assumed the stuttering is something else in the engine itself like the audio. That's why FRAPS doesn't record it. The frame rate of the renderer is staying consistent, but all not the game assets.

Heavy hard drive access (by other programs especially) has always made it worse.

I assume Leftos personally coded in even more stutter this year.

Why would Leftos do that? Quite a assumption you're making don't you think?

What I recognize is that the AMD Catalyst (14.9) sometimes crashes when I start the game which leads to stuttering.

I know I haven't got the game yet.
But I strongly suggest one other thing if you have no more than 4 GB RAM. Go to services. And disable Windows Defender. Disable Acrobat Update Service and Application Service. Distributed Link Tracking Client Disable. Diagnostic Policy Service and DHCP to Disable. Logitech Bluetooth Service Disable. Media Center Extender Service Disable. Parental Control Disabled. NVIDIA Update Service Daemon Disable. Performance Logs & Alerts Disabled. Windows Error Reporting Service Disabled. Windows Media Center Scheduler Service Disabled. Windows Media Center Receiver Service Disabled. Windows Search Disabled. Workstation Disabled. Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service Disabled .Set Windows Update to Manual, Windows Installer Manual, Microsoft.NET Framework all 4 to Manual, Disk Defragmenter to Manual. Office Source Engine and Office Software Protection Platform set to Manual. The rest you're going to set to Manual.

Now you will have more RAM free. I strongly suggest you do that. Also download CCleaner go to Tools ---> Start Up and disable a list of programs during start-up that also chew up RAM. For example I disabled Realtek HD Audio Manager, HP Software Update for my Scanner and My Logitech G11 Gaming Software and G500 Gaming Mouse Software from starting up. They themselves chew about 80 MB both.

From my experience Windows Update and Windows Defender are the biggest RAM suckers. Windows Update chews up to 400 MB RAM just by running in the background, that's why I set that to Manual... Also disable Antivirus you don't need that. I haven't used Anti-virus programs in over 2 years and have never been infected. Usually it happens from downloading. Otherwise the program itself will eat your performance.

i have a suggestion for everyone: in nvdia control panel set prefer maximum performance in power managment mode and turn on V-sync. In game turn off v-Sync, for me smooth play after this, and game react immidiatly your buttons. My only problem that my computer restart randoomly when i play,(sometimes 1st quarter, sometimes 4th quarter) is this becsaue maybe my power supply is weak?

(sorry for my bad English)

Random reboots are usually caused either by weak power supply or overheating.
You can rather easily check the latter.

Turn off supersampling in the config file in the appdata roaming folder also

Update your drivers if you haven't yet

Programs like this help more if they're used by users which don't take care of their PCs properly - having clean registry, startup programs, not running useless processes... Which also gains impact with lower performance of the PC - high-end machines can just brute force their way through...

as far as I know my PC is well and cleaned regulary,
also it's funny when I capture game video, the game does not lag, with 2k14 it was lagging while I was filming a gameplay

let's hope we can find another good solution for better preformance

And yet it helped you by setting lower priority or even killing some processes and getting more RAM available and god knows what else.

Also, video capturing software takes those frames right from the source, so you might have a problem between the output and input?

There is a bug with those drivers.

What is it set to? Sounds like double buffer or triple buffer, which would be your game buffer, using 2 or 3. I haven't looked at the config, though.

The videoconfig file is located in User/AppData/Roaming/NBA2K15. Just an FYI.
