I always thought reading anything into information that third parties, be it retailers, conventions or any other sources, give out is completely redundant. I don't see why anybody other than 2k/VC should know what we can actually expect from the PC version at this point.

So basically, from what we have been told we have crew mode coming back for PS3/360 only and this new MyLeague mode is exclusively for PS4/XBO.

And the PC gets...........Leftos with a non disclosure agreement stuffed in his mouth.

I Love You 2K.

Once again 2k leaving us in the dark. I want the new engine and graphics and if not don't bother giving us a game at all. Only the moderators think its a good idea to get a fully featured last gen version. What exciting new mods are coming if we get a last gen version of 15? Its gonna be the same mods like it is every year.
Stop damage controlling and making the case that we should be happy to get anything at all. You would think these guys would want to make mods for the next gen version but it seems they just want to recycle the same mods every year as easy as can be. In my view when hawk converted the ubr to 14 that closed the chapter on last gen. It was cool to have a ubr in 14 since 13 was so broken but that's it. If we get a last gen version for 15 everyone will want hawk to convert the ubr for that for no reason as its gonna be the same game on last gen guaranteed. Stop fighting and damage controlling progress. The game will be built on x86 so if you think it will cost them a lot of man power or money you'd be mistaken. If they were smart they would build a pc version first than downgrade to the next gen consoles but hey lets just defend them for every decision they make. Hey leftos tell your co workers I said if they are working on a last gen pc version they can stop now and leave for home early. No one is going to buy it but the 3 moderators and a few contributors who have been damage controlling since the first page. Do it right or don't do it at all like 2k did with boxing, hockey and baseball. Also tell them I said to spend the money to get back in the football race. Maybe 2k thinks that the nfl will come down to their offices and hand them the license for free. How bout you guys spend some of that vc money on the nfl license since you need to spend money to make money but they cant seem to figure that out.

I dont think its a good idea to have a fully featured last gen port, I think it would be incredibly stupid for 2K to continue to do that. I also think it is incredibly stupid how personally the pissed off people are taking the lack of news. I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to know about the game before you preorder, I'm just saying you are not entitled to know about it on your timetable.

Modding has changed and evolved each year. For me personally the last 3 years progressed from kinda making Street mods to making dozens of courts quickly to making a mod actually play differently from the sim game. We got the return of Ultimate Base Roster, more detailed than ever this year. We got the NBA Jam, Space Jam, Superhero, actually accurate NCAA mods during 2K14. We haven't even scratched the surface of what we can do with RED MC iff editing yet, but still we had a huge animation mod and a new cyberface technique that outdoes the PS4/X1 game. A moddable last gen 2K15 would probably continue with the innovations we are using. Shit, if we do get a PS4/X1 port for 2K15, that is or is not moddable, I would expect 2K14 to live on just like Live 08 is/was doing, just because of how customizable it is.

segasaturnboy wrote:blah blah butthurt

The rest of your shitspewing is just, fanatical. Your informed and thoughtful look into the x86 porting and NFL license issues shows it. And damage control? More like expectation control. Let me say this again, in bold, so all can see, we are a niche within a niche, we make up a tiiiiiny portion of the entire game's sales and with all the arguing you guys do here of what can or can not be done to fix that is not helping.

Unfortunately we do not have a 2K marketing rep here on the site. We have Leftos (and technically Mike and Scott), none of those people are in any kind of power or control to choose whether or not a NG port happens for PC. IF they do, you better believe Leftos would be fighting tooth and nail to make it happen. If you want to do something productive about it, go hit their Twitter, go hit their Facebook, give feedback on the 2K forums, give ideas through the 2K Support, do something through the many 2K social media outlets, that is their purpose.

Whining here though? Calling me (us) out for damage control by saying "I'll enjoy whatever we get"? Shit, maybe if you experienced that uncertainty of what is going to happen to your hobby in the 5 months between the known cancellation of NBA Live 09 PC and the announcement of NBA 2K9 PC you would get it. 2K's latest game always, always fixes or does new things that we cannot do. They may seem minor to you but that is important to me. It keeps what I am playing relevant. It lessens the blow of if/when PC no longer gets any port. It's personal to you because you feel an injustice. It's personal for me because this is my hobby that keeps me interested and entertained for 12 months of a year.

Please, do everything in your power to petition or do whatever you can for a next gen port. I feel like I've already done my part. All I can do is wait, but you best believe I am going to have fun with whatever comes out on Oct 7th. I'd be the first to bite 2K's hand that's feeding me my yearly addiction if I knew NG would be the prize, but there is no way I'm going to rally up a shitstorm that takes away from my enjoyment of the game here and now.

I don't think the piss comes from "whether or not a NG port happens for PC", since it already happened, it's a simple yes or no question they avoid. It's not like they're still debating which version to port, that decision has already been made, why keep it under covers? Are they planning an announcement of an announcement with a basketball unrelated pseudo celebrity to make an announcement?

Hey man you wanna rant go ahead it does not bother me personally that we have different opinions and can be good for you from time to time. As a guy who has been buying their games since NBA Action 98 on saturn and every NBA 2k game since I have the right to state my opinion.
niche market or not they have been getting 60 dollars on console from me every year and pc for the last 3 years and it stops now. Im not happy with the direction the series is taking focusing on things like my player, crew and vc over adding more legends. You wanna focus on vc how
about they add a young Vince Carter and the 99 raptors. Don't bother to tell me they are taking the focus off legends cause young kids don't play it and they need to appeal to a general audience. They need to appeal to me. I can care less the way anyone else decides to play. Look at all those corny my player
videos that get so much love. Why fix the online when every one plays like an idiot anyway. You know what JAOS its a different generation and Im gonna leave it to you kids and just gracefully bow out. I don't like the way they treat the pc community niche or not and after buying their games since they have been making them available and personally converting long time live fans into die hard 2k fans I feel like an idiot. I was able to turn around 30 guys when they got desperate and were selling 2k 5 for 20 dollars. Supporting a company that does not even have the class to make a forum post letting us know what we are getting. Im not asking for blood. Please do not bother to say maybe they will make it in a big announcement, well no because we are so niche they can not be bothered with that. Maybe they don't owe you an answer but all the money they have made off me since the late 90's yeah im entitled and I think they owe me an answer instead of this sorority secrecy trash. If it was not for people like me buying their games where would they be. Maybe because you can mod you think you are better than me but you spend your 60 dollars plus the pc version cost every year meaning they make the same money off us. Maybe you should look at yourself with a little more value as a customer. Im done with this thread and this series. Its not whether or not we get next gen or not at this point, its the my platform is not important enough for an answer that pisses me off. Nice job Jaos, because of this conversation I don't even want the new game. Thank God for hawk and the ubr as I will just play that instead and not give 2k more of my money until I feel the game is improving in modes I actually wanna play. The point is that I only care what I want at the end of the day and the games pandering to a different type of basketball fan. Casual ones.

I'd love to know, clearly, under what conditions you would or would not buy NBA 2K15 PC or console. Just for reference to see if not taking you seriously for your word is worth it or not months from now.

Saw this in a same discussion over at the OS Forums. Made me laugh, but I wouldn't put it past them.

i think 2k used some of the pc modders content and iirc they hired one of the well known pc modders. check me on that.

my guess is they will make it next gen because they want this community to keep bringing new content to the game.

plus, if they dont make it next gen there is a good chance it will end up killing the franchise on pc.

thank you fellow Vermonter.

no, 2K has not hired any "modders" or used any of our textures or anything we created....if they did there would be a shitstorm or an announcement. They've only taken our dear Leftos from us, so toolmakers/programmers.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive, but isn't it weird that someone like AmaroWade makes cyberfaces better than any single person at 2K? Or how we have roster editors that make rosters far more accurate than the official ones? Maybe 2K should hire some modders. Just my two cents.

Nothing prevents modders from actually applying. Just saying.

And it's not like 2K doesn't reach out to people in the community. Me, Bedwardsroy, Scott OG...
