I found this amusing. This is an e-mail I sent to 2K regarding the PC pre-order and 2K's reply. I think someone else on this thread or on another site has done this and posted it as well. I took out the names.

My Email:

"Good Morning,

I am wanting to pre-order NBA 2K15 on the PC platform but there isn't any information regarding if the game will feature the same content as Playstation 4/XBox One, or Playstation 3/XBox 360. Can you please tell me if the game will feature next-gen or current-gen graphics? Thank you!

Very Respectfully,"

2K's response:

"Thank you for contacting 2K Games Support and for your question.

Although there is no information to release on this topic, we appreciate the fact that you are interested in our games and recommend staying tuned to @2K on Twitter and https://blog.2k.com/ for all announcements related to upcoming games.

Best Regards,"

I'm prepared for both outcomes last-gen(360/PS3) and current gen(X1/PS4). I'll be darned if I pay $59.99 for a stripped down port tho.

Oh, they are completely aware, otherwise a guy like Leftos wouldn't have been on their radar. Marketing wise, The PC market is a low priority.

Worst case scenario, the resources to make a PC version would out weigh the demand, and they would discontinue making it. As long as we keep buying it, playing it, and it is profitableto make, we should always have a PC version.

I think that if we get an exact replica of either console version with no stripped features, we should be happy. That is what we have been along for, hasn't it?

There's partially a reason the sales are low on PC. It's because we get shitty ports. If PC got next-gen with full support and was marketed at all, the sales would almost certainly rise this year. Sure, it wouldn't come close to the console sales, but it would rise. Releasing a shitty port and than getting upset when it doesn't sell well is senseless.

Who said 2K was upset? We're getting another game, we can only speculate what their motives are.

I thought 2K never stated why they released dumbed down ports on PC...

Maybe upset was the wrong word. Clearly they have no faith in PC, though.

the problem on titles that release on all platforms... is that compared to the combined sales of PS3,xbox360,PS3,Xbone

the PC sales are maybe 10%

as sad as it might sound but right now with TWO console generations still getting games... we PC Gamers are kind of a minority right now...

so as dissapointed as i would be if we get last gen again.... i could understand from a buisness standpoint

if your game sells lets say 10 mio times... you think about how much do you invest in that 1mio PC users

maybe Fifa 15 triggered some waves so there is still hope... but i set myself up for last gen and stripped features again..

I understand a few guys here are moderators and contributors with that being said no one can damage control this. If we get the old gen version we can use mods but who cares. I got all the mods I want and the
UBR for 2k14 so why would I buy 2k15 if no work was put into it. I can care less about the new canned animations of guys getting dunked on with out a chance to block it and than being walked over with no class what so ever when they are on the floor.
If I cant get the new version then I will stick with 14. I have a ps4 but wont buy that one either since you can not change anything. They need to port over the new stuff and stop taking us for granted. 2k forgot what pushed them over live and that was the legends.
Before that 2k would never write the number 1 selling game on the box because they couldn't. Take a look at 2k10 or any game before it. They would write the number one rated basketball game but not number 1 selling. Just give us the new stuff or don't bother.

Heh... The PC sales are nowhere close to that high.
According to ArsTechnica, NBA 2K13 solid only 50,000 units on Steam. For Steam - a store releasing games so frequently that it starts to worry people - 50,000 is the the median.
While total sales were never given altogether, 2K13 solid 4.5 million units overall by Feb 2013, less than 5 months after release.

Simply put, at most one percent of all copies of 2K sold are on the PC.

This is not true. 50000 sales is only for the steam release. You have forgot to mention the Retail DVD sales which contribute to the total sales.
NBA 2K on PC sells close to 200 thousand units when you combine both the Steam and Retail DVD sales.

All the NBA 2K games I have bought so far from 2K10, 2K11, 2K12, 2K13 and 2K14 were Retail DVD versions which don't register to Steam! The CD Key of the Retail DVD version of NBA 2K can only be used for in game registration/online play. The DVD version is not a Steamworks Activation game like some other Steam required games.

In fact NBA 2K11 PC has sold a total of 188,171 units worldwide according to VGChartz!
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/45348/nba-2k11/Global/
NBA 2K12 PC global sales 155,236 worldwide.
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/64154/nba-2k12/Global/
And this is combined together with both the Steam and Retail DVD versions!
50000 Steam sales is actually quite normal. Because most of us PC Gamers are actually smart, the Retail DVD version costs half price compared to the Steam version. So of-course most PC Gamers will opt for the Retail DVD version. This makes the Steam sales suffer. This then creates an illusion that the PC version only has 50000 sales when it doesn't account for the Retail DVD sales.

1) VGChartz is HORRIBLY inaccurate when it comes to sales numbers and is pretty much not trusted by anyone. It's so bad it's banned on Neogaf.
2) The PC version is the same price on Steam and Retail day one.

Even with those aside, it's still nowhere near the predicted 10%.

To get any real numbers you would have to find somebody who has access to that info, most likely someone who has access to npd our similar figures.
