I read here that Leftos has join 2K last year during 2K14 development.
As a PC player, i don't charge Leftos, but 2K.

It's good to see developers here, but it's a forum, so I imagine we can argue with them as long as i'm polite.
And I don't thing i've put bad arguments on the table...

Polite yes, but know that Leftos is not a community manager like LD2K or Ronnie, he cannot give any information about anything he is working on.

As for your arguments....

in 2K12 they overhauled their online code - http://kotaku.com/5854423/nba-2k12-work ... -dreamcast - not that it fixed anything for PC users but there have been a dramatic dropoff in complains on these forums about 2K14's online. I dont play online, but based on that I (wrongfully probably) assume things have gotten better.
sticky-fingers wrote:- since 2k10, NBA 2K series is on steam. But no real integration, no success ; but it helps to sell games on PC
I have no idea what you mean, no success but it helps sell the game. If you mean no Steam friends/VAC and such, no those aren't there. Maybe this year will be different with the full-price game, we'll see. But we've known before the release year after year that we were getting a game with limited game modes. And 2K9 was disc only but Steam only, so you couldn't buy it digitally but it is tied to Steam.
sticky-fingers wrote:- we, as PC players, are still waiting for official patches on 2K12,2K13, 2K14
well... NBA 2K12 Official PC Patch (North America) and thankfully the 2K13 and 2K14 patches on consoles didn't have to fix anything majorly wrong with the games like 2K12/11/10. Again the support would be nice, but we are a niche version of the game that makes up maybe 1% of total sales each year.
Opinions are my own.

All(?) pc versions are unplayable in maximum details when online, additional low fps, lags etc, i dont know how it looks in 2k14. I just want stick to the facts so i must mention that im talking about online gaming of nba2k series in my country. Maybe in States this situation looks different because of servers locations- have no idea- this is first ever game through many many years with so many problems in multiplayer mode.

Then don't get the game next year if online is such a big deal for you. No sane person should still be surprised that 2K online sucks, especially on PC.

doesn't mean that's an excuse for 2k not to allow user's working private servers for use on PC

I'm not excusing them for anything, I guess I just want to bring across an explanation that I've accepted in the last 5 years of 2K games. We are a tiny userbase, we do not get a full game, we get to deal with whatever launch bugs there are because we don't get official patches, we pay half price.

But again, Amazon and GameStop are showing something different for this year. We have preorder bonuses for PC, which have never been listed (by reputable dealers) for PC before. We are being shown a full $60 price tag, which they have never done before. It's all speculation though until 2K tells us something.
Opinions are my own.

Jao i dont understand this way of thinking, sry. I dont understand why 2k still add online mode if its unplayable. They shut down servers for 2k13 months ago. This is simple poor. No sane person should defend games developer when some things really sucks. This way of thinking always works against players community.

I agree it sucks that I have to start an online association just to play online with a friend, but I've gotten to play online and dont have an issue with it. I'm sure people would complain more, like in 2K9, when there wasn't any online modes rather than what is currently there.

Again, I am not defending them, I'm just not in the same boat as you. If you want to branch this off into a new topic go for it, but this is for 2K15 PC news.

There's still some hope though. Major online retailer still rate it at 60 USD on PC. Might be just a placeholder but hey, I'll take the chance.

Games like GTA have a much larger userbase, but I'm still hoping for the best. I think there's still a possibility for a next gen port, but at the very least, a full-featured 360/PS3 port.

All the main games of the GTA-series always comes out on PC, just with a delay, therefore, there is little doubt that it will be released on PC, and Andrew right about userbase...

Yeah. I meant to say that the PC version of GTA V was on par with current gen rather than with last gen. But you are right with the userbase, though. I just hope we'll hear some confirmation about 2k15 on PC. One thing's for sure, it will not be @ e3.

You dont try it, you dont use it, so it's not a major feature for you.
But trust me, people complains about the still awful netcode.
It's still the best sport game on PC, and with a decent multiplayer mode, they will sell more copies on this support.
But with the same netcode, pc players don't want to pay anymore, trust me or not, i've read that many times on french forums.

Sorry, it was achievements in english.
This part was also about steam friends/VAC/Workshop/Market etc...
So we agree : there's no steam integration, only activation.

For 2k14, 1% of 5.000.000 copies sold (in february), for a quick conversion.
About 1.500.000$ ... insignifiant ?

Compared to the console sales and userbase, the PC basketball gaming community is very much a drop in the bucket. That's the unfortunate reality of the situation.

I have about 8 million views on YouTube "MkEliteWorksX" with NBA 2K Mods / Gameplays, promoting NBA 2K Past Gen like crazy. Its funny because so many people think I am playing on console and start saying "I just bought a copy cuz of this!"
My space jam video literally bumped sales for the movie itself too after being on YouTube homepage for 4 days.

Now the userbase on PC is low which is true, but once you release the next-gen version on PC with a benchmark option, I am sure many people will be interested, just because GRAPHICS and I am sure major benchmarking websites like Guru3D and what not will start using it to show video card benchmarks etc.

This will get the game some support from the PC world, automatic advertising. I personally know SubTheGamer aka STG, if there was a PC version of next gen, we could team up with the mods that would come out for ittttttttttt

I just wish 2K would do the next gen version for PC.......like damn thats millions of YouTube views!

...which is still a drop in the bucket compared to the revenue of the console versions, which also generate further revenue through the purchase of Virtual Currency.

Don't get me wrong, I want the best for the PC platform, and I think there's a good chance we're getting something better this year; even if it's a full 360/PS3 port. However, because we deal with the PC version so much around these parts and are so passionate about it, I think we forget that we make up a very small percentage of the userbase and that it's only natural that the majority gets the focus. That's the unfortunate reality of the situation; we're a niche market within a niche market. But again, I'm hoping for the best.

i just need to know if the pc version is going to be current or next gen (also when can we switch to current gen and last gen?) so i know if i am buying it or not. i skipped last years because i am not buying a console just for a sports game and i was pissed about it being last gen(too soon?)
