That's a mid range video processor embedded with your cpu. You could probably get it to run on medium with a lower than maximum resolution.

Here are the requirements for 2K14.

I've got my eye on a rig - hopefully these specs would do the trick?

4.0GHz AMD Athlon 750K Quad Core Trinity Processor
8GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
1000GB (1TB) Hard Drive Storage Space
AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB Dedicated Graphics Card
Gigabyte FM2+ USB3 Motherboard & Drivers

Yep, this will be more than enough.

I always played 2k11 and 2k12 with no noticeable issues. Does 2k14 have higher requirements? I cant afford a new one :(

recently i switched from windows 7 to windows 10 and i was having occasional microstuttering issues with nba 2k14 on windows 10. then i found this thread and changing cpu logical threads number really makes the difference! microstuttering was gone!

BUT - can someone explain me what is cpu logical thread in confing.txt of nba 2k14 and which numbers are best to set up? i tried 1, 2 and 4 on all logical thread and it's the same result, no microstuttering, but i would like to know which number for each logical thread is the best in keeping fluid gameplay and not putting too much burden on cpu?

of course, i have quad core amd cpu.

The cloth logical threads are for processing the cloth physics. The game should autodetect how many logical processors you have. If you have a quad core, go with 4 threads in order with 0, 1, 2, 3. If you don't like it, try 3, 2, 1, 0, or even just use two or three. You can disable one or more threads by putting -1.

The main cpu logical thread is self explanatory. It's the core or thread that the main logic will use. You can always change it between 0, 1, 2, and 3 to experiment.

I remember messing with the config file ended up causing me more problems and most effects were placebo. Deleting the file and letting the game autodetect everything was the best choice for me. But it's been two years.

just in case if i didn't understand you right - do you suggest this:

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 0
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 3

or

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 3
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 0

right?

i tried these three varaiants:

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 4

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 2

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 1

on all three, microstuttering was gone, but with default game setting, which was 1, 0, -1, -1 i had microstuttering.

so what do you suggest, please write the values which i should put in order not to put too much burden on my cpu, but on the other side to get rid of microstutter in windows 10.

Try the first two. Each line is for one thread, and each value is for what cpu core that thread is going to be sent to and processed. I never understood why setting four threads all to the same core(4,4,4,4, etc) improves anything.

What you can also try is set the main cpu logic thread to 0, set two cloth logic threads to 1 and 2, and the 3rd and 4th to -1, then set the gpu logic thread to 3. That way all four of your cores are being utilized by only one thing. One for your main logic, two for the cloth logic, and one for the gpu logic.

so the value we put is to which core should be addressed? now it makes no sense, that means if i put, for example, value 4 on each thread, all data will go to core no. 4, right?

it doesn't make sense at all, but it fixed microstuttering. i'm totally puzzled right now.

btw, i didn't touch main cpu logic thread and gpu logic thread values yet, but i will try.

also, while i was on windows 7, i always had deafult values, but on windows 10 i have microstuttering and this is the only thing that actually helps. but i want to make setting that will get rid of microstuttering on one side and on the other not to put too much burden on cpu.

EDIT: i just tried this from the quote bellow -

Pdub wrote:What you can also try is set the main cpu logic thread to 0, set two cloth logic threads to 1 and 2, and the 3rd and 4th to -1, then set the gpu logic thread to 3. and it doesn't work, still have little microstuttering. it seems only changing cloth logical thread values makes the differnece.

EDIT 2:

i tried another thing - turning off all cloth logical threads (by setting all four on -1 value) also removes microstuttering.

this is all confusing...
