Hello my 2K brethren. I just wanted to share something with you that I came across, that I've actually been baffled to figure out for quite some time. I don't think I've seen a thread about this topic, but if so, please forgive my oversight. I first noticed this a couple years ago when I created a Dennis Rodman CF for the 1994 Spurs (I think). His 3D hair was blonde, but when I played certain teams, the 3D hair was jet black. Initially I thought I did something wrong with the file, but again noticed that his hair was actually blonde, depending on which team I was playing. For the life of me I just couldn't figure it out and I ran through and checked/unchecked so many different options in REDMC. Some months ago, as I was working on some D/G-League stuff, I figured out what was causing the issue.
The option that causes the 3D hair to go black is in the "Arena" tab and the option that needs to be changed is "InitCrtSds". If that option is "0", it causes the 3D hair to go black, but if you change it to "1", the 3D hair will be the color to which the CF is supposed to be. Here is what that option controls, as stated in the REDMC "Fields and Values Tutorial".
- Defines the team, which starts the game on the left side of the court (on Broadcast camera). Also affects home and away teams' bench positions.
I hope this helps because it used to drive me crazy, especially when you have a really good CF and this happens. Thank you all and keep up the great work.
