Jao's Misc Thread - My To Do List

Updated my template for creating courts, this time I used the Great Western Forum as a base. Has everything moved above the court. Removed the crowd, press, photographers, mopboy, etc.

If you use it, can't wait to see what comes of it I just updated it for myself and wanted to share it with others who might want it.

Victim of the world's worst texture job (its 1am, I used the first stuff I found for tileables) but dammit I finally made my elementary school gym in somewayshapeorform in a game.

I have higher resolution parts I can use other than the 128x512 I was limited to in this test for the walls and I have plenty of 3D touchups and fixes, as well as adding trash cans and shit like that, but damn man, it feels good to have a new template to work from.


Oh yea, I'm also using SketchUp models as a base. I have a basketball court I use in SketchUp for scaling, then I make basic walls and features in that.


Export (with a plugin) to obj, then import the obj into the NBA2KM model in Blender. Trace it with snap commands with NBA 2K parts, then delete it before exporting back to the mod tool. Came to me in a freaking dream and works well. No more trying to design crap together in wireframe mode.

XD no idea how this happened but im starting to like the look of it. Its like a basketball court inside of a skate park.

shouldn't you rather place concrete than wood on those spots? don't wanna interfere in you artistic direction choice but would probably look more natural no ?

Wow this re texture job is a lot more challenging then i thought it might be. A lot of trial and error.

Really digging the Live Icons and No Replay Indicator -- but I also really like Exrxixxx's Net Physics (both files are gamedata.iff's). Is there any way for me to easily combine them? I've never actually dabbled in modding, other than downloading all the great content provided here.

I edited out the baskets by searching for the basket ID in the file, EF21FBDC, and replacing it with 00000000

I needed to know which MLB vista cities were useable or not, since I am having issues with getting the night textures to not be used. So rather than continue to fight it, I am going to try and make some "midnight" street courts, with environments. To do that I needed to see what I could and couldn't work with, so I took all 45 of the MLB 2K12 "vista" models, shrunk them down really small, and took an overview image for easy reference.

When I get something usable, and of course after RED MC updates with iff support, I'll release these templates and images with proper names and such. Dis, gon, be, goooooooood.

Is it weird that I can name what stadiums a majority of those environments are from? Shit, I'm a loser
