I second this. This should really make a big difference.

That's a good idea. I always liked those mods.
My only worry would be having to update the mod if I change the jersey names and numbers to players that get traded in real life. Would people expect me to update them when that happens? Most teams try to hold on to their two best players and some stars even have no-trade clauses, but you never know in the NBA.
yes, you're right..i remember I made this after the trade deadline. but I made 1 jersey in only 2 sector ( man jersey, not woman) and I made it only for stars...for example if you look at my thread in last post screen you will notice that there is the LBJ jersey.
Sixers85 wrote:which format you use to import the texture? because I use the png and texture look very bad
if import in dtx5 I see all black
For NBA 2K14, I use DXT5 format DDS files. I import them using 3DM Tool 0.4.43.0 - later versions crash when I try to open the team_###.iff files.[/quote]
yeah, you said me the solution last year, remeber? but for the format I've used the png and the texture loose a lot of quality

Thanks, tatlopuyo. I haven't tried the X4 texture method yet. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

I had no idea you could import PNGs. I just import the DDS files. Is there any reason you're saving them as PNGs instead of DDS files?
I tried importing a PNG of the crowd texture and it corrupted the jerseys, sign and props. The mipmaps were even more corrupted.

How to make Crowd not moving?

Having watched a lot of Sixers basketball this season, I've been meaning to update James Anderson and Daniel Orton's cyberfaces. I've only done texture editing so far:

Cool, thanks for testing it. It's definitely something I want to try.
Right now, JaoSming and I are trying to figure out a way to get the generic player textures to be 512x512 (by default, they're 256x256). After some trial and error, Jao discovered that NBA 2K10's generic cyberface CDF/IFF pair actually works in 2K14, and the textures are 512x512. However, for whatever reason the game thinks the texture is still 256x256, so it only displays 1/4 of the texture in-game.

That's a good question. I have no idea. To my knowledge, nobody has figured out how to modify animations.

I've released the Retextured and HD Generic Players 2K14 mod, and updated the first post with it. This mod aims to improve the quality of the generic player cyberfaces and increases the resolution of the default generic player textures from 256x256 to 512x512.
I've only retextured the generic cyberfaces. The arms, tattoos and facial hair textures are ported from NBA 2K10, which originally had 512px textures.

http://forums.nba-live.com/downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=6089This is a mod that I worked on with JaoSming, who taught me a lot about hex editing. He found out that NBA 2K10 still used 512x512 textures for the generic players. When we first tried to import them, the game loaded the 512x512 textures with incorrect UV coordinated. We found that the createpholder IFF file is responsible for what scale the textures appear at on the models. Once we fixed that, the mod was good to go:

I dig your work a lot, but after installing Retextured and HD Generic Players my player's facial hair is off-center now. His goatee is off to the left side of his face by a couple inches.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
I see what you're saying about the off center goatee, Bear. I'll take a look at the facial hair textures and see which ones need to be centered more based on how they appear in-game.

Would you try giving Phil Pressey and updated cf? Can't find which cfs are yours in the downloads section by the way. Very nice James Anderson, great texture work.

gravediggin' sorreh
Any news on the retextured generic faces? The goatees and mustaches are still out of place and there's only 4 eyebrows, the others appear as if there's no eyebrows at all.

Thanks, HoopJunkie. I can try giving Pressey an updated cyberface.
However, there's one small problem. 2K uses Sylven Landesberg's cyberface as a placeholder for Pressey. If you don't use RED Modding Center to assign Pressey a new cyberface number, you'll have to overwrite Landesberg's face.
Sometime this week I'll add a list of the cyberfaces I've done to the first post.

Thanks for the bump and sorry for the wait.
I had a look at the CDF a while back and extracted any textures that looked offset. Theres a facial hair texture for every hair color, so it took me longer than I expected to get all of the incorrect goatees and moustaches. I'll try to have a fix up sometime this week.
