I would love that too, however, no one has tried changing the bootup video (excluding the bootup from old 2K games).

What will happen if i put the cheerleader update into a 1996 roster? with the sonics cheerleaders be for OKC? Or will the Nets cheerleaders have the brooklyn nets instead of the new jersey nets?

The Sonics uses a different team ID so I'll still have to create that one. For the Nets, it will show Brooklyn instead of New Jersey.
