took a deeper look into the ratings and imo this is not a good roster to play association with. no discredit here, i'm sure it was a lot of work to do these ratings, but the overalls are far from being realistic.

sefolosha starts instead of korver, stoudemire instead of bosh, muhammad instead of wiggins... come on man :D sorry, but this is crap. sure, it works for exhibition games and it's not easy to make accurate ratings in relation to the rotations, but imo, at least the starters should be rated above role players to make sure that they start in associaton mode

besides that you made a really good job

and another hint. the career stats for the players are messed up

But it was explained thoroughly. You HAVE to look at overalls. Making a roster not based on 2K's entire system is flawed because it WON'T produce the same simulation results at all, even with the proper formulated ratings and tendencies. Let's say you have the proper tendencies and rotations for a team and simulate it, it will only have the realistic results you wish to achieve when you are controlling the team. That makes it a huge flaw where you have to personally be using ALL of the teams to make sure their rotations aren't bad.

slimm44's formulas are really good and the gameplay is definitely SUPERB, but 2K's default (bad) CPU AI and terrible overall formula makes it a nightmare for rosters like this because it's not compatible at all. You have to either make adjustments to the formulas, or be able to modify 2K's bad CPU sim logic or overall formula (which I don't think is possible). He did provide a suggestion that the starters' overalls should at least be paid attention to so that it doesn't have the same problems he was pointing out.

is a pretty decent reply to any thread considering that it follows a single line of thought where the rant was explained briefly, and as well as him also providing a suggestion to solve/avoid the problem. He explained the need for overalls, so I don't know why you commented "just another kid around looking only overalls" cos it the same comment can be said about people who are "just another kid looking at individual attributes". He explained everything clearly and his comment comes from understanding on how difficult it is (what slimm44 is doing), but it simply just doesn't work to the desired effect because of the flaws of 2K's game engine itself, unless an adjustment to the formulas is made. He shouldn't get lost with such an "attitude".

I agree with what Med said.
I'm not a specialist, but MAYBE it is able to tweak "not so important" attributes and tendencies of players so they can have a bit higher atribute, but no tendency to use it?
Like that starters may have just visually better overall rating (because they will have some attribute that is basicly useless for them just higher to gain more overall, but they won't be getting advantage of that attribute)
And that would help the game to make sure that the right players would start.
It is just a quick thought, so don't judge me too much :D

Youre wrong Med sry. I know what you try to post but youre wrong. Asso mode for every roster is bad, because cpu is doing what he want to do. What for you re making rotations then? If it revert to default 2k. Minutes the same. 2k logic in asso mode is bad for all rosters. If you dont have paid version of redmc you can forget about accurate or real stats, and without edited tendencies you are in real trouble. To be honest i never saw edited tendencies with the same scale in any roster around. And to be honest one more time, all rosters have pumped up players just to make their overall higher,pumped centers or power forward ratings for pg,sg or sf just to satisfy arcade players. Many guys around still dont know weight of some ratings(and im not talking about users) To play asso mode with some kind of realism you must choose 30 teams to control, turn off injuries and have at least editable teams tab in redmc. Without this no matter which roster you choose your game will go crazy right at the start of new asso. And sry med but i would never visit your thread and critisize or pointing things youre doin wrong or inaccurate imo, ever. This is sad.

I know that you have worked alot on this project, but why would you insult a consumer of your mod when he is trying to give you feedback? (it is a retorical question, so I do not excpect a answer for it)

Here's a preview on what you can expect to see with my jersey updates for the URB. The late 90's Sonics will have their uniforms in the correct colors (Red, Yellow, and Mint Green) as well as the Rev30 mesh holes removed.

when did i call your mod "crap"? it was only related to the ratings and they actually aren't flawless if somebody wants to play an association with this mod. thats all i said!

people who dont use this mod should take a hike from here since they do nothing to help, just to rant and moan about something and disrespect all the hard work put into this. thats why i always supported how hawk23 deals with them in his thread.

Off and Def Awareness is the biggest overall changer in the formula that would allow you to at least be able to control the overall the way you like it, since both awareness ratings do a lot more than described in the game. That, how I see it is the easiest way to adjust overalls. I do remember 2K giving Dirk Nowitzki 99 OFF AWR and 80 DEF AWR just to give him a high OVR when we all know it's not the same for both cases. There is definitely a need to adjust to the game's engine, nobody can doubt that unless you are able to change the entire engine itself.

Not every roster has a bad Assoc mode. I make updated rotations for quick game purposes (personal use, cos me and my father like to play without injuries). Every team has the same bad minutes logic, there is no doubt about that. However, there is some "quality control" you can do with the minutes by at least projecting the starters to share their actual time on the court. Like he said, some players start over actual starters when they shouldn't. HAWK23 and I use overall-intensive rosters which do not have that problem. The only issue would be having no sixth man because the sixth man almost always starts (ex. Jamal Crawford if he has too high a rating). So that thing you said "no matter which roster you choose, your game will go crazy right at the start" is wrong because some are still able to achieve somewhat realistic results through simulations (MVP awards, player stats for the Stars/Starters at least). We can't do anything about the bench's minutes and player stats, but we need to at least control the starters' minutes on the court.

PS: I would prefer if you did, actually. I am more used to being an artist (pixel art) than a designer (roster modder), and constructive criticism comes naturally to me. Like someone here said, it is important to listen to the consumer/user because they are the ones who are actually using the mod a lot more than us content creators. slimm44 seems to understand that, so should you.

Part of the difference is, when you update a roster, you update one roster. When I update one player in one roster, I also update EVERY version of that player. I am not willing to make what would literally be hundreds or thousands of ratings changes just so somebody can start over somebody else when you yourself are acknowledging that minutes aren't given realistically by the AI in association mode, anyway. You have your method, I have mine. Mine just happens to have a great deal of ratings and tendencies based on real life stats and how the sim engine works. I can live with lower overall ratings because I know how many benefits there are to a project of this size and to an individual roster. Honestly, releasing an association file that has minutes/rotations set (like Sko does with season files) is the best way to go. After the 1st season of association, I shudder to think of what happens in rosters that don't have potential set to function realistically with how 2k's engine works. I think this project is slightly misleading at this point because there is only one "realistic" roster to look at. The NCAA roster is obviously fantasy. The rest will come in time.

Okay, to everyone who don't like how some players are rated higher than others...change them yourself. Its pretty clear that the makers of this roster are pretty headstrong in the direction they're going and a little rant and some constructive criticism will not work. I have issues with every roster I have used, and of course I voice out my complaints without resorting to cheap shots and insults. But when it goes unnoticed or gets rejected, I simply brush it off and fix the things I don't like myself. Sure every update will be a pain in the ass, but it saves everyone time and energy being wasted on projection of unnecessary hate.
