HI Slimm. I'm a Big Fan of all the effort you do to make us have one great basketball game to play. I just have one doubt. What Roster are you using ? I was seeing you writing the tendencies for players on google docs, but in the first team (Philadelphia) The Roster have some players not on the roster anymore (Royce White and Kwame Brown) and missing four (Daniel Orton, Hollis Thompson, Brandon Davies and Elliot Williams).

When you use the REDitor are you going to use the most updated roster ?

Thank You Very Much. Great Job, as always.

I am updating every active player on the roster file, including FA's and hidden players. All transactions will be complete when I release the final roster and all players with available cyberfaces will be created. It's easier for me to have the spreadsheet as it is because I can copy and paste all ratings and tendencies.

I have to edit Shot Location Tendencies for about 20 teams and all of the players (aside from FA's) on the spreadsheet will have all Statistical Tendencies edited. It won't take much time to do Dribbling Tendencies and the other subjective Tendencies. I may be able to release a roster with all Statistical Tendencies edited tonight, and if not tonight, almost definitely tomorrow.

Should have another beta release out tonight. I think I have 6 or 7 teams left that I need to edit Shot Location Tendencies.

REDitor is awesome.

Hey can you edit Kevin Durant and Paul George body type back to slim? They are normal instead of slim in your previous rosters.

HI Slimm. I just noticed something odd on the washington wizards tendencies.... The Lane and OBS Tendencies you are repplicating them for every player. But on the Wizards i noticed that almost half of them you use the lane the double of the value used to the OBS...Is this right ? Sorry, just trying to help.. We are humans, sometimes we can miss a number here and there.... And the Kemba Walker tendecie to 3p i think it's low, just 15 ?

Thanks... Great Job.

Thanks for the heads-up, man. Don't apologize, I need people to find stuff like that. There are a few teams where I halved the on-ball steal tendency for big men. Around 5 teams, I think. The rest have the same numbers applied. I will fix it for the final release, but I was messing around with two ideas and didn't correct it yet.

You are also correct about Kemba. That should have been a 45, not a 15. Probably a slip of the finger since the 4 is right above the 1 on my keyboard.

If you see anything else, please let me know. There are bound to be some mistakes in there. I am updating the Post Moves and Post Shots and I'll release the next version. It'll probably be tomorrow because I need to go to bed.

Well. I'm Glad i can help your amazing Job. Well some values that i understand why u put them, but i would put others... Pablo Prigioni MId - 0, maybe 5 or 10. Carlos Boozer Inside 40 and Mid 80, maybe 50/70. A higher Mid to Aldridge , maybe 75. Well, i don't know the logic u use to the tendencies, i mean, i understand a bit, i know they work together with the total shot tendencie. What is the logic behind the commit and hard foul ? Why they are the same ?

Well That's it... Any help u need....

If you want to double-check, feel free. This is the method I used:

1. Determine a rough average of FGA's per 36 minutes for basketball-reference.com
2. Go to nba.com and search for the player. Under the player card, click on "Shotcharts", then click "Shot Distribution" and "Basic Zones".
3. Apply each % to the FGA for each area and that's the Tendency.

For players who don't have many shot attempts, I will go back a year or two or three to find a year that they had a decent amount of shot attempts.

That's what i did... Boozer shot 39% inside and 44% Mid... Aldridge 23,5% Inside and 62% Mid... That's why i tought Boozer inside shot be higher and Mid lower a little, and Boozer 80 and Aldridge 65 at mid.. i didn't understand, that's why i tought this could change.. I was seeing just this yeat's shot chart. Prigioni just had 1 mid att this year, but last year was 24 att, so i tought could be higher than 0.

Thanks, keep the great Job... Waiting for the new Roster.

They should change. If you don't mind, keep going through the spreadsheet and list specific players and tendencies that are incorrect. I went through 400 players yesterday and I'm sure I made mistakes.

So far, I need to correct:

Carlos Boozer
Lamarcus Aldridge
Pablo Prigioni

I get so excited about getting the roster done that I miss mistakes like that and I don't take the time to double-check.

We're doing the same thing for tendencies. It's just too bad that NBA.com/stats doesn't have a table-type presentation of their data so it can easily be put in Excel. Btw, here's a list of player changes I made that I hope we can keep uniform among rosters so that the files and stuff will remain consistent.

I will definitely use the Universal CF ID List for missing players. I don't want to conflict with any other rosters.

Thanks for the list, I will definitely put it to use.

I have checked from Philly to Atlanta in the spreadsheet. If anyone is willing, please look through the Shot Location tendencies for these teams to see if they look good. Thanks in advance.

So far, I need to correct:

Carlos Boozer
Lamarcus Aldridge
Pablo Prigioni

I get so excited about getting the roster done that I miss mistakes like that and I don't take the time to double-check.

I can try to provide a changelog. I added an update to the downloads section to show that, aside from the teams that are all done, all teams have assigned plays, playbooks, and statistical tendencies edited. I will probably release a few more beta rosters before the official roster, and releases will come when large chunks of editing have been done. I'm thinking something like this:

1. All Ratings done
2. All FA Tendencies done
3. All FA Ratings done
4. All Hidden Players unlocked, released, and edited
5. All missing players created and edited
6. All contracts fixed
7. All Coaching Profiles Edited
8. All Classic Teams Edited

Did you intentionally assign the hot and cold streaks or is this from your base roster? Anyway, is your basis for the stats a mix of this season and the previous seasons? Because Kevin Garnett has a 95 Mid-Range shot rating here. He's been 31/80 (38.75%) from mid-range this season. Do you have any sliders that go well with the roster? Also, are the playbooks your own or Hikwelity's?

By hold/cold streaks do you mean Consistency or Hot Zones?

The Ratings are always a mix of the past 3-5 seasons. Garnett (and all of the Nets) are having down years, but it's also only been about 1/4 of the season. He's likely to bring his mid range percentage up at least a few percentage points by the end of the season. He's consistently been an outstanding mid range shooter throughout his career.

There are a set of sliders somebody posted a page or two ago. I played a few games with them and liked them a lot. I will try to upload the settings file to the first post sometime today.

The playbooks are all based off Hikwelty's playbooks, but I also cross-referenced them with me and fishbowlguy's spreadsheet and only chose the Green (consistent) plays. I left out the yellow (inconsistent but working) plays.

I also uploaded a new version of the roster. I had forgotten to edit the post moves for all teams past the Knicks yesterday as well as several teams PNR/PNF tendncy. All of those have now been updated and are in the first post.

Seanbarkley, do your thing, man.

I'm talking about the Up and Down Arrows with the ratings. How did you do the playbooks? Hikwelity's playbooks are incomplete in the google doc.

The up and down arrows were from the base roster from 2k. I'd like to remove those if anyone knows how.

For the playbooks, I went through the list of each play (Iso, PNR, etc) and added plays to each teams' playbooks that he said could currently be used. I plan on going back through the spreadsheet when he completes it and updating the playbooks. Me and another poster from OS are also doing more playbook testing. When we find plays that aren't on Hikwelty's spreadsheet that work consistently, I'm gonna send them to Hikwelty so he can tell me what teams could use them.
