but let's not turn this into decade "war", shall we?
Actually it's not silly

. I'm not tryna add fuel to the fire, but the 80's probably was the best decade. The 80's were responsible for bringing the NBA the popularity it inevitably received in years to come. If not for the 80's and the superstars and competition of the time the NBA most likely wouldn't be what it is now, or anywhere close. Plus Jordan dominated the 90's, the 80's had Jordan, Magic, Bird, Isaiah and the Bad Boy Pistons, The twin towers in Houston (Olajuwon and Sampson), I could go on and on. The 80's were filled with so much talent, a lot of guys who averaged 30 ppg per season are all but forgotten. Guys like Bernard King, Alex English, Adrian Dantley, Dale Ellis, Kiki Vandeweghe, Dominique Wilkins, Mark Aguirre, Purvis Short. Guys that unless you watched basketball in the 80's, or are a basketball aficionado you don't know about. I was watching hardwood classics on NBA tv when Bernard King dropped 60 on the Nets, and ended up recording it for my son because he had no idea who Bernard King was. I had mention his name to him months ago and he was clueless to whom I was talking about. Not to mention guys like Michael Ray Richardson, Rolando Blackman, Terry Cummings, Sidney Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Walter Davis, Orlando Woolridge, Tom Chambers, Gus Williams, Jack Sikma, Buck Williams when he played for the Nets, Dr. J, Moses Malone, Artis Gilmore, George Gervin, James Worthy, Kevin McHale, etc... Plus most of the superstars of the 90's started to come of age while they were playing in the 80's. Even goliaths like Mark Eaton and Manute Bol. When was the last time someone avg. 4.5 or 5 blocks a game? Not in the 90's or since. So my point is, if you never watched 80's basketball how can you even begin to debate which decade was better all around basketball? Yeah everybody remember the 90's cause that was Jordan's era. And not only on the court, but with the shoes and the endorsements, like the commercial says, everyone wants to be like Mike. The 90's is when the era of "player branding" took off, so the stars were in the limelight more off the court. But as far as basketball goes the 80's were filled with more talent, like I said the majority of the superstars in the 90's played in the 80's!! Now everyone has a right to there own opinion, but I strongly believe you shouldn't make statements on things you don't know about, and as someone who admitted they didn't start watching basketball until the 90's how do you even feel you're in a position to argue with someone who watched both decades or even further back than that? Sorry for going on and on, this kind of got away from me. It wasn't suppose to be all this, I just had a point to make. Now back to your regularly scheduled program
