Hey Lakers92

(i.e Larvae's portraits?)

Thanks

ps any release date for single team associations?

I don't really know honestly. I thought I'd have it done this weekend, but I've been doing other stuff. AssociationFix is literally the exact same thing as an association mode would be, only it's a "year behind."

sorry what's this assoc. fix you are talkin about?

Download team_011.iff in Pack #6. It overwrites the old New Orleans Hornets crowd. I didn't see anywhere in Red MC that I can change this value to team_711, so we'll just have to go with this.

Not only does the crowd now have Pelicans colors, but they have shirts with the logos. So freaking perfect. Thanks man!

Quick update tonight since Gustavo Ayon was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Hawks. Tried to work on association mode today, still no luck. Don't worry though, AssociationFix will work perfectly while I'm still ironing out the kinks.

I tried to get an Alby's one done today, but I'd either have:
a) A coach retire
b) A player retire

When simming through association mode to start one next season, it is absolutely critical that no one retire. If they retire, they're slot in the game gets messed up, they can't have a name, etc. If you want to start an association today, I'd recommend just using AssociationFix rosters, because I don't know how long it's going to take to get an association mode ready. I've got two big exams this week so I don't know how much time I'll put into this aside from daily roster updates.

dreamagain wrote:sorry what's this assoc. fix you are talkin about?

It's a roster in the roster pack that you can start an association with at this very moment. The only differences from the PlayNow roster are:
1) Stats are pushed back one season -- this allows the game not to glitch and give you 30-something players with 170 PPG. It also allows you to record-chase with players like Kobe Bryant (only 6,770 away from Kareem!)
2) All shoes are not custom colors, so you can trade a players freely without worrying about weird shoe colors.
3) All players were "born" one year earlier, so each players age is reflected accurately when starting association mode.

You're welcome. It was in the pack #4 the whole time, but it was named team_711.iff. I didn't see anywhere in RedMC that I could change this value, so I just overwrote the current New Orleans Hornets crowd. Thank Aristotle, he was the one that made the crowd.

Hey lakers92. if you have REDMC. you can edit the association file near the end of the regular season. go to player tabs, then scroll down through status. down at the bottom of that you'll see an option under the likes of j.kidd and grant hill etc, that says will retire at end of season. its a drop down list, so you can change this to for example, happy to remain with team.it means they wont retire. or you can make certain players retire instead. for coaches all i do is make yrs experience a lot smaller. like george karl, i take about 10 yrs of his experience, and he never retires.hope this helps.

I like this idea. The only flaw is that 95% of the time it's the coaches, not the players, even if I change their experience to 1 year. The biggest offender by far is Larry Drew of Milwaukee, he retires like 80% of the time. I don't know how to stop it.

Hey Lakers92

I love the work your doing! I also love the fact you answer almost every question we have for you, that's real dedication! :bowdown2:

I have two questions though

1) Which rookie CFs do use (i.e who's?) and do they all have portraits?

2) What will the single team associations you're making be like ( I want to do a Lakers one) so will it be real time (starting before the 2013-14 season?) and will it have all the FA, Rookie, contract and coaching changes? Also will the stats, awards etc be updated on there? Any idea on when these will come out?

Thanks!

He's not in the game yet because he hasn't been invited to a training camp/signed to a roster. Rest assured, the second he does, he'll be in the game. Lakers are my favorite team (obviously) and I would go to the end of the Earth to get all the Lakers players in the game.

Hey, if I don't answer questions as best I can, people might stop coming here and downloading my work. If they do, I'll lose the people that constantly review my work. Since I release every day, I definitely don't have time to test anything before I throw it out to you guys.

1) You can use my rookie CFs. First, copy all the ones out of necessary files #5. Then, copy the things from #6. If #6 things overwrite things in #5, don't worry. I added them to pack #6 for a reason (they're likely of higher quality). Not all rookies have portraits, just the ones who were drafted (picks #1-60)
2) Once I get Larry Drew to stop quitting on the Bucks, the single/30 team associations will likely start pre-season 2013-14 (October 2013). Everything that is included in the rosters will be in the association mode -- so yes, everything will be updated. I expect an end-of-the-week release, I'll get to working hard on them Thursday once my two exams this week are over.

The reason I have to start in the pre-season is that when the regular season rolls around -- teams in the game automatically cut their rosters down to 15 players. Since most rosters right now are 15+, it's just random who gets cut from rosters. Additionally, if I start in the pre-season, it will give users a chance to pick either 2014 draft class. This means if you play Alby's and prefer Aderito's classes, you're not pigeonholed into playing with only Alby's draft classes.

You might say, well, just advance to the regular season and copy the rosters over again! Well if you do this, you lose the ability to import a draft class (or even have rookies at all). Since the very first thing you have to do when you start a regular season is to decide whether to auto-generate or import rookies, you can't just copy over what you had from this off-seasons rosters. I suppose I could make a roster with the 2014 rookies added... Vlad needs to hurry and get Red MC the ability to edit .FDC files!

The only disadvantage to starting in the pre-season is that you can't resign your position until the regular season starts -- so you're stuck with the randomness that comes with teams releasing players to get their rosters down to 15. There in lies my serious problem... unless it's a 30 team association you're just letting the game determine the outcome of the future. This might not matter to some people -- but myself I know I HATE the game deciding the future. That was part of the reason that I started this mod in the first place, to keep Chris Paul from signing with the Pistons.

Hopefully that gives you guys a little insight into the development process and why I've been stuck in neutral for the past few days with this catch-22. Really the only thing you gain from an association mode (not just using the AssociationFix rosters) is a correct start date. You lose a lot of customization options.

EDIT: If someone with a lot of time on their hands wants to copy the 2014 rookies to my AssociationFix rosters... be my guest! (Y)

Maybe this can be fixed inside of Red MC. If you want to, you can PM me your game file and I can take a look at it.

Thank you man! I found him in the CH2K12 mod from last year, I'll try to add him to free agency tonight and then to the Knicks whenever he makes his official decision on whether to attend camp or not (NY Times said he's still mulling options).

Sounds awesome I hope it works with TNT presentation from janmykelg (tweaked with your Pelicans logo of course). I actually had a dream I had a startup screen with Pelicans instead of Hornets.

capwulf, I updated today to include Toure Murry in the free agency pool. Again, thanks for your donation!

The only other change I made today was to give Shane Larkin his presumed 120% rookie scale contract. Otherwise, there were no moves today.

jacktorres wrote:I actually had a dream I had a startup screen with Pelicans instead of Hornets.

Hahaha man glad you enjoy the game...but maybe you need a break
It'd just be the vanilla logos, I'd just update the Pelicans & Suns. I wanted to make everything 512x512 for superior quality -- but a lot of the ones on the startup screen are different sizes (mostly 256x256).

As for extending his contract, yes, I've done that. He is just hellbent on retiring.

TWOTommyO wrote:I noticed that Marcus Smart and Doug McDermott had updated cyber faces for the US teams. Is it possible to have them applied to the draft class rosters?

Well... yes and no. Currently, Red MC doesn't provide the capability to edit .FDC files (draft classes). However, once I started an association and imported the 2014 draft class, yes I could. If I were in your shoes and already had Marcus Smart/Doug McDermott in your game ... you could just send me your game file and I'll change the CF_IDs for you. If you bought the Red MC capable of editing .FXG files and whatever (I think it's a $4 add-on by itself), you could do it yourself.

unidentified13 wrote:i cant seem to download any of the necessary files right now. are the links down right now??

They're up for me still. I've ran into this problem a lot recently, I suspect mediafire may be throttling my downloads or something. To put it in perspective, in about two weeks my files have been downloaded a combined ~300,000 times. Needless to say, this is far more than the average mediafire file. Maybe I'll consider uploading to a new host. Any suggestions?
