i actually tried but i will need to bring a ladder to the park thnx though....this is the center logo maybe it can photoshoped a little..the court is pretty simple except for the graffiti

no tutorial just yet, still trying to figure out how I should group everything together first. I dont want to do tuts on parts of it that dont apply to the final package.

I did make the decision to remove any extra logos from the courts to keep everything consistent. F Sprite and meh DLC on top it.

So that is 33 courts down in 4ish days. The real fun begins now with courts that actually exist from the NBA Street games.
So, I want to make sure to add in multiple versions of each court just like I did with Rucker at the beginning of the thread. Versions that are in the games we play, plus real life tournament versions, and of course the current Google/Bing maps version, if possible. I also want to make sure I have courts from each NBA city....
...at some point I would really like you all to enjoy this mod with me. So I am contemplating stopping the court creation and work on a roster to play it with, if I can get permission from someone. This is obviously going to spill into 2K14, with new shadow textures, crowds, etc. It is just a matter of getting a good base going to build off of, and I'm starting to think I've hit that point.

I love this idea for the mod, and the courts are looking great! Pairing this with some of MGX's And 1 streetballer's would be amazing too. Not to get too far off topic, but I've seen some people in the past bring up the idea of creating wesley snipes and woody harrelson. Putting them up against the fictional Uncle Drew and Wes would be an epic battle! But once again, great work on figuring out how to eliminate all the extra arena and stadium stuff, and get it to where it's at now. Very innovative, and looking forward to your future courts as well!

Jao, for 2K14 I would be real interested in making a "pick up" roster to be used with this, as well as different jersey/short textures for the players all to wear. I think Street/Blacktop is where my efforts will lie in that game since my NCAA thirst has run dry after reading a few things here. A roster, including, some, top NCAA guys, And1 guys, NBA guys, etc. all mixed up on fun smaller rosters where players can edit themselves. If you (or anyone) can, shoot me some files for blacktop clothes, I would like to work on some jersey/short combos when I'm not totally inundated with soccer this Fall.

Would definently love to see bigh0rt's idea, the normal game modes that 2k release do get boring after a while, and a "street" gamemode would be amazing!

Well I will remind you guys that NBA Street 2K13 and Community Ballahz already exist for 2K13, but I understand.

I'll try and get some template for uniforms done....surprising to me that no one has done one for the community since 2K9.

Jao, I may be showing severe ignorance here, or maybe it's just my being away for so long... are you playing Blacktop mode in your video here? If so, how do I get the players to all wear different jerseys/shorts? Those are what I want to make custom/real Nike/Adidas/etc. ones for. Yet, when I play Blacktop mode my guys just wear their NBA uniforms, which I don't want. I'm thinking Blacktop Mode is where I'll be spending my time, with the ability to choose up custom quick rosters, etc.

Yes, I am playing blacktop mode, and unfortunately, that is the only way to get different uniforms on different players. No worries on the 'ignorance' man, you know I'm always willing to help/inform/etc.


I have decided to stop with courts right now and pop out a few rosters that use these courts, then I'll focus on the 100 courts goal for 2K14. Lakers gave permission to let me use a NBA365 roster update as a base, so rookies and all. You will need to get that update for the rookie CFs though. Also, R4zoR made that crazy Rucker court, which will house the All-Star games if you play MyCAREER/Association (which should work...dammit).

So, I'll update as I go. Could be done tonight, could be a couple days. We'll see how far I take the crowd and backboard customization for these courts. Of course, we are still in 'Phase 1' of all this, so more updates, better stuff, yada yada, all still coming.

Importing a .bmp texture into texture slot 3 iirc. Its covered in the Create any arena you want thread here in the releases forum.

Jao, have you experimented with any other lightmaps? Ones that don't necessarily go totally light to pitch black, but have some lighter and darker spots on the court? Maybe even try one that would replicate car headlights lighting the court at night? Or with the center of the court being slightly darker with periphery lights not quite reaching all the way to get it as bright as the sides/corners?

Her's a quick go at the current Nike Elite Shorts. What do you think? I want to make all the colorways of these (and fix whatever needs fixing here), and work on other real adidas/Nike shorts and tanks. For me it adds to the realism.



Also haven't checked what they look like in-game. Just made them quickly and got excited and wanted to post them.

So, I wanted to give you all an update.

I stopped making courts every night because I wanted to ensure something got released for 2K13...
...realizing I didn't have a roster I had permission to edit is what has caused this delay. Couple that with permission to use updated Suns/Pelicans uniforms for the street unis I make...well, you get the idea.

• So, this will use the port I did of bedwardsroy19's awesome PS3 roster - viewtopic.php?f=149&t=92514
  I will still do a "sim" roster, which will only add the different courts and keep everything else the same (and t-shirts for non-sleeve wearing players)
• The "full" roster will have the outdated (old Suns/Pelicans) street uniforms from the previous NBA Street mod and practice unis. Blacktop mode will use those shorts from the Blacktop Revitalization mod by R4zoR.
• And the Community Ballahz roster will have the terrible players replacing the NBA, this time with appropriate dunk/layup tendency ratings, and with courts that can only have a maximum of 25 people in the crowd.
• 33 courts I already made are going to be assigned to the NBA teams based on popularity, I will try and sort them so you can select specific courts in the play now screen easily.
• R4zoR's EBC court will be the All-Star court.
• I'm only going to use backboards I already have created for the courts, not new customs yet.
• Same with environments, I'm not even going to attempt the lights for the court, let it be a mystery for now.

Yes, I am kind of taking a lazy way out, but I really want this released during 2K13...and with no guarantee that 2K13 iff files will work in 2K14, I don't want to screw myself over being entrenched in this. Once the above is done, I will return to just making court textures. Reminder again, this mod is open source, so if someone wants to take it deeper, go for it!
