Why don't you learn to mod and help then? Saying you understand shadow reason and not mine is dumb. I have a wife, a kid, work and go to college. Sorry I cannot dedicate anymore time to modding a completely volunteer project. I'll never understand the nerve of people.
PS. I never knew how to mod before this project and II contributed more time than I probably should have. I did a lot of jerseys and plenty of courts.

I know modding can be very time consuming and tedious, so I understand that. But saying it like, it's time to start getting ready for 2k14 and next year's mod so I'm done with this one, doesn't make any sense to me.

Either you are being overly dramatic or you didn't read what I said thoroughly. Of the four things you listed on your obligation list, I have them all except the wife. So I understand. But then again I said that in the first post, before you got all upset about it. My only issue is that you and BehindShadows are talking like it's time to wrap this up and move on to next year. Now as far as that goes, BS relinquishing his role as the overall head of this project, saying he would enjoy the break. I understand that he would just be waiting on 2k14. You basically seconding that statement doesn't make sense to me
IF THAT was your reasoning for not continuing to contribute to the mod. If you just don't have the time or ambition to continue to mod at this moment, who am I to judge or criticize you? So I don't know what you all huffy and puffy about, it's unnecessary. I'm assuming you read the first half of what I wrote, got offended, and decided to respond. Cause I don't see why you would be offended if you had read the whole statement. However, I will be the bigger man and apologize if I offended you, or if you felt I was trying to unfairly criticize you, because that was not my intent.
P.S. I appreciate what you and everybody else contributes to this mod. I am not an ingrate who expects people to make this stuff great. I understand all of this is volunteered, which makes it that much more special, and why I love this forum. Everyone comes together to create these wonderful mods, that we all enjoy, without any other reason, then they have created something they enjoy and want to share it. If that was the philosophy of the world, it would be such a better place.

Behindshadows, sounds like a plan my man.
That being said guys, don't worry, I'll continue to tinker with and add new stuff to this mod right up until we begin work on the next version. Yes, progress will be slower but it's summer and understandable that there won't be as much help. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. As someone else mentioned, it's hard to say when next years REDitor will come out, so I'll have a 2014 roster ready to go for this fall. Keep in mind that everything is fairly easy to convert (hopefully for next year as well), so everything we continue to do will be easily transferred over to next years game and will not be wasted. I'll continue to add new teams when Vlad adds the clone/copy tool as well. But for everyone is interested in still helping, just know that your work will not go to waste. Hopefully next years REDitor comes out sooner!
For now lets focus on cranking out V3 and seeing how things look. Great job everyone to this point, we've made a lot of progress in not much time, now lets finish strong!

Basically, When the mod is completely done which would probably be around the release of NBA 2k14. People will play it for a couple of weeks until 2k14 comes out, then people will forget about just like the previous mods. The only people that will be playing it are the ones that can get the game right away. Why continue patching something that people will forget about anyways. We need rest to motivate ourselves to do it next time. We did a lot this year i am proud of what we accomplished. I'm guessing that 2k14 wont be a huge jump so everything we made this year should be easy to convert. Dona worry little updates will be added to the project to keep things moving.

So if the consensus is to slow down production of everything then are we going to put out the rest of the teams out today and just do small updates as modders see fit? There is no need in holding on to the new teams at this point. I say open the flood gates and whover wants to contribute more just release through the thread...Just seems logical. What else are we waiting on?
Sat Jun 08, 2013 5:07 am
are you saying to completely give up? I ain't doing that, I won't even get 2k14 for pc, and likely not for anything else either. If nobody continues to mod this for 2k13 I will do it all by myself, adding updates and crap, because I want it to be good, and I'm not getting 2k14.
Sat Jun 08, 2013 5:37 am
yeah, to give up would suck, i mean not everyone can afford 2k14 who's to say the game is going to be good, just because we all assume this years was ? yes lechoke is on the cover, but that doesn't make 2k14 a must buy. look at madden 2013 ? people really liked 2012 version, 2013 came out and in most people opinions said it sucked. you guys have worked very hard, and just cause two people say im done until the next installment,
of the game, doesn't mean things should be packed up. i agree with john. this is the closest thing to a actual college mod on pc, nothing has been written in stone for even next gen consoles. meh i guess ya'll do what you do, but i think john hit the nail on the head release v3 and see where you at.

Everybody needs to reeeelaaaax. The sky isn't falling, folks. Everybody chill out.

Let me rephrase what I said, I am done modding heavy duty for the project mainly because my PC time is cut down a lot. If we need a court here and there or something, I will be here. The biggest part of this mod is complete.
Sat Jun 08, 2013 2:17 pm
Yeah guys don't worry nobody is abandoning this mod, and what I said really has nothing to do with the 2K14 announcement. Nobody is giving up, all I was saying is lets focus on V3 for now, because after that there isn't much left that can be done until Vlad allows us to add more teams. Basically we will just be adding more cyberfaces, courts, alternate uniforms etc. as they are completed. I'll still be doing a 2014 roster update, but until more team slots are available all that can be done is improving the teams that are here, that's all I was trying to say.
I think everyone will be very pleased with V3 though as it will have many large improvements (new teams, courts, uniforms, cyberfaces, logos, ESPN integration, signature skills and animations, accurate shoes, accessories, etc and much much more). Just chill out and enjoy what we have and help out with V3 because it will be a major update.
Like I said, people don't worry, everything will be great. We got a late start but progress is still solid, all that I'm saying is after the new teams in v3 we can't add any more new teams so by default there won't be any "Major" updates, but there will be small ones more often as more faces get made and what not. I Will be continuing to work on this project until the 2K14 one gets started so no need to worry.
On a side note, I need someone to make Iowa's uniforms and court if they have time. If not then I need a suggestion of a replacement for Iowa that was in last year's mod.

Will this overwrite Nba files? Can I put all these files in the main folder without overwriting my current game?

you do a fresh install of nba2k13 first. then after you make a copy, rename that copy (ch2k14), do the same to the .exe, move that newly created .exe on your desktop. then mod the game as it needs to be, because certain logo files and things will be over written, it is very worth it though, these guys have done a great job making this mod, so i suggest you do that, to completely enjoy the game

Why don't people use JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME)? No more issues with overwriting of files. No conflicting mods. No disappearing Online Data. No copying a whole folder(wasting hard drive space) and making new shortcuts. Easy testing of mods and graphics files. I use it for NBA 2K13, MVP 2005, GTR2 and rFactor.

I love it !
Since i didn't have any answer, i repost my message, hope i'm not bothering too much :
Hey guys ! Wonderful job you are doing here ! Can't wait to put my hands on the final version. Some great artists over here.
Speaking of artists, i've a request for you guys. As some of you might know i'm working on fictional draft class with cyberfaces. My problem is, while i'm good at doing texture, i'm not that good at doing headshape (it takes too much time if i want to edit all my players, i have almost 200 cyberfaces). So since i saw wonderful headshapes in this thread, i thought i might come and see if some people were willing to share them (i'll give full credits to you guys) so i could apply my textures on them.
Thank you for reading, and continue the good work here
