yeah DaRealKings kinda explained it well. to try to explain it simply the white texture (ambient occlusion or AO map) gives the face prerendered shadows. so what's darker in the texture should be darker in game.
the green texture (normal map) controls how light hits the texture (of the face in this case). it gives depth to the folds/crevices/pores in the face.
so your problem is probably with the AO map.
