Haha, I know the feeling from when I edited EVERY player in 2K11 from 1996 to present and completely modified my association game to give it more realism! Good job and we hope to see those changes in the roster file soon. :applaud:

Guys guys guys, one thing, year ago in january or february u have no chance to play different season than current. Please understand one thing, right now u are able to play 6 seasons(even 7/8 with ego draft classes) all with accurate rotations, all players with portraits and cfs, personal info,positions,team roles and in my opinion with accurate ratings.
The base BUG in 2k13 are tendencies, this one thing causes so many bad things, included most important- gameplay and stats.
I never said my retro rosters includes tendencies...so until i will update this thing we never see accurate stats. The best way is to play one match with URB V5 and after this play one game withany previous season rosters. The difference is HUGE, sliders cant help- its tendencies. URB 5.0 give personally feel that i play sim of nba game. Retro give some kind of arcade space jam match with no pace of game.
There are many bugs like u mentioned SC1211, and there will be many bugs in future for sure. Week ago i try to back and play 2k12(i cant, animations kill me, even gameplay) with some of retro roster from UBR and i see so many bad sets there and its version 34 or 35, year after release of game,not 3months, but i understand this, it is normal.
I will contact u SC1211 if i feel that i cant make it, please inform me about every issue u meet and i will try to update this.
and really, no offence, hope u understand what i try to say

I always play with PHX, my fav team since 1993 (btw, I like Marcin Gortat a lot!). :wink: I remember 2 players with this issue of numbers instead of their name in the announcement: Sean Marks and Marcus Banks. But there were players on the opposing team in the same situation, can't remember who they were (one was O'Bryant). I will try to reinstall the game and apply the roster pack without the shoes update and maybe my game won't crash no more.

I think u must apply shoe patch, because if not, the some shoes cant show up, because files missing- but u can try.
U trying with deleting shoe files from online data folder?
All players u mention about are created one, so maybe this is the reason.

I deleted everything in the online data folder but no result, the game was still crashing. And yes, I understand what you say about how tendencies affect the game engine this year. This is also the reason why the best sliders so far (Eccentric Meat's :!: ) apply only to the last version of URB which has adjusted tendencies for each player I guess.

Yeah I wasn't complaining or anything, was just offering my file in case you wanted to use it or look at it. As we've all said, major props for all the work you've done, I just wanted to offer up a partial fix of some of the bigger issues. Not a big deal if you don't want it, just a friendly offer.

ok i checked, start asso with phoenix, simulate first two games against GSW and DET, and play half game with ORL. No crashes.
One thing is clear, it must be something with Magic team(some player without shoe, and causes crashes when start from bench). First thing, go to rosters of Magic, and try to edit every player, if u get no crashes it can be only some player in Phoenix roster which causes the crashes.

its not about i dont want to, sure pack them all and send it, i will look in free time.
i just affraid that u add some players, or make some trades, all small changes causes changes in team roles, rotations and if u create some players u can easily duplicate players. For example, nbatak working with 06/07 and adding salaries, he want to add one free agent, and when he did that, he delete one player from Toronto, and duplicate created player.
please understand i find so many bugs working on roster file, 2k fucks up again.
if u sure u did not trying to add some players please send me your files.

OK, this is the weirdest thing ever! I reinstalled the game, I didn't change anything with the game. I reopened my saved file with my Assoc. and played the same game against ORL again and...it crashes again when there is 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter right before I make a basket with some random guy. This I really don't understand! The only way to test it - because it happens to me only from what I can see - is to start a new assoc. My only guess is my old assoc file got corrupted somehow... Thank you for trying for me, I will let you know if I can make it run.

I'll send it when I get home from work. I made no changes at all to the teams or free agents, the only thing I did was edit tendencies and a couple ratings, and I did a potential overhaul. Nothing to the actual rosters or rotations.

But there is nothing in my Online Data folder. Do you suggest to move that folder to the main directory of the game? Btw, I started a new Assoc and same thing happened against ORL but this time in the break between 1st & 2nd quarters. This is weird! :evil:

You are right. Some of your CFs conflict with egodynasty08's draft classes... this png is actually cody zeller. I'll just disable them when playing retro seasons. Thank god there is Generic Mod Enabler, I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the mods I have installed. Thanks

Actually it still does but from what I've heard the previous version 4.1 is more stable. Can anyone provide me a link to it? I can't find it anywhere and I looked all over the place. Thank you!

I hope to see more retro season mods in the future. i know we might not see sim like stats but its nice to play with some of the old school players. I love what hawk did with the UBR Roster on 2k12 but when i started playing 2k13 it kind of ruined it for me. Once you've played 13 for a while going back to 12 or 11 feels like a arcade game and less sim like. I didnt realize how much better 13 was until i played a few retro games from the UBR season mods the other day, i just cant get wit 12s animations anymore. 2k13 animations are light years ahead of the previous series animations. I think hawk is missing the boat with not converting to 13 but I can understand because i know it would be alot of work but i could imagine some of UBRs 80s mods being played on 13 and its improved animations. Man that would of been a sight to see.

I agree with mtdub; hopefully when the new Reditor is out patchers will create a few historic mods for 2K13. But in my opinion animation is the only improvement of 2K13 in comparison with 2K11. Of course in time 2K13 and perhaps 2K14 will get better, or at least they should be if there is any progress. At this very moment, 2K11 is far superior to any game in terms of gameplay and graphics. :wink:

^^ I agree with you levynagy about 2k11 having the best gameplay and graphics. 2k13 is not very gameplay friendly in my opinion. Im having a hard time getting 13 to play the way i like but the animations are amazing. The players movements and the way they fall down and etc are so realistic. I just cant get consistent good gameplay but some games Ive played was about as real as real basketball can get. Im not a fan of 2k12 at all, if it wasnt for the UBR i would delete 12 from my cpu.

Glad to see some people share my opinion in here :) As opposed to you, I deleted 2K12 from my computer but I loved the historical mods for it - if there were some draft classes I would try to play it again in hoopcast mode but as far as I know there are only standalone season mods...

That just means it's unfixable then. He's heard this a bunch of times already. I'm pretty sure he's at least tried to fix it.

like meds said, annoucing names is a matter of 2k roster file version. urb is based on one of the first when 2k dont even know about existing of lot of players...like always.
about crash,im still looking, but it is weird that i have no single crash. i never use files from different roster patches. all of u using daninoz portraits? all of u using missing cfs? are u having crashes when looking rosters in game? maybe its all about some missing cfs,but it would be weird.

Ok i was thinking about crashing and what change in v5 opposite v4.1 but i dont know it could causes crashes.
Timberwolves 17 players roster, but i think other roster patchers use the same numbers of players and have no crashes.
Both rosters(injured and uninjured) crash?

Ok, i got the same crash, now im testing game ORLvsMIN but this time i play 12min/q, i got two crashes after my shots(ridnour,kirilienko). One first 3min, second 2nd quarter. I checked other teams, no crashes. So wtf is wrong with this two teams. Can it be dornas or courts?

Probably is something in the roster file, definitely not dornas/courts/cfs. Btw, my 2K11 has never crashed and I edited 16 seasons & 16 draft classes; this 2K13 is rotten :!:

Guys, I think I fixed the problem. Empty fields in a row Playtype1.
At the very least, having played two games against Orlando - the departure did not happen.
Such moments, I found just a JJ Reddick (Orlando Magic), and Vladimir Radmanovic, Wayne Ellington, John Jenkins, Roger Mason, Daequan Cook.
Corrected version 5.0 for indications version 4.1.
All of these players had to stand value "ThreePT".

I created mine too but the name is still editable.

its not a problem, many players got empty field in this row, it not causes crashes. Thx for trying, but in future please do not reupload and re-release my roster.

edit: now i understand u talk abouut empty field i read NONE in this row, must be tired yesterday after work (Y) i will check this

skoadam you should be glad people care and try to help as much as they respect your work, we all do but we want to have a game that actually works. I personally wait for the new Reditor to come out so we have a bunch of historical mods with 2K131.

I am just about able to edit a program like Roster Editor (by Leftos) and REditor (by Vl@d), although not all values ​​thoroughly studied. Tried to create and edit player faces not quite work - not enough time for a more detailed examination.

just have a questions on how you rate players...

is there a formula you use?

because right now im trying to figure out some stuff on the roster and when i do so, i quickly think of the sliders and it just messes my brain... Its like when i changed something in the ratings, i think to myself, why not just change the sliders...

I dont know... im at a wall right now so...

Or like let me rephrase the question... Do you fix the sliders first before you mess with the ratings, you balance it or ratings then sliders...

Heracle85, you want to help and u helped so much, right now i got only few minutes/day(first wife lost her job and tommorow we thought that our 1 year son broke his knee-damn life) for modding so i really happy with this kind of help (Y)
TGZ, formula for rating? not like tendencies, u can try with fixing ratings but you can try with sliders- your choice but right now, i think only thing we need is good sliders. Im so f close in my research, but when i think i found accurate values i start playing using top team(Miami) vs some weak(WAS,CHA) and its to easy or other way. But i dont give up.

The reason I ask if you do ratings first before sliders or vice versa is because of the 99 rating... To be honest, I dont like giving 99 ratings coz I feel if he is 99 in like inside shots, basically means you need a 99 rating in blocks to defend that... if that makes sense...

Anyway, as a follow up question just to get me over the hump, do you have a justification on giving a 99 rating?

skoadam So sad to hear about your personal troubles... :( I think you should focus more on your family first. But I know gaming takes a lot of stress away so it's not a bad idea to continue with your project as well. Now only if you could balance both.

When I tried to change my sliders I got some good games but then - just like you - they were all gone and the frustration came back with bad/weak/unrealistic games again.

2K13 looks very unstable to me...that's why I said earlier we need the creators of the game to get back to work and make an official patch to solve all those unrealistic aspects of the game - of course that will never happen... Until then from my point of view this game is garbage (aka not playable) if you are looking for a decent realistic game. Of course there are patchers like you and EccentricMeat who try to fix things for us. Even with this kind of help...I just beat ORL by 17 points (yeah I started my Assoc again, I enjoyed my first 2 games) and I'm afraid I can feel the "2K13 curse" again... (N)

On your 2012 season roster, lebron has a 99 inside shot rating... There are some on other ratings like ball handling that have 99 ratings, but i can understand that coz its more subjective...

I hope i dont get on the wrong tone on this, its just, I want to know how roster makers decide on when to give a 99 on a rating...

ekhm 2012/2013 roster? no he hasnt 99, 89 and 92 inside shots.
if u talk about 2011/2012, this roster is based on one of the first my current roster, as u see LBJ got there 98ovr rating, and in my current hes 96ovr. Hope u understand, that i cant focus so much on all retro rosters like i do it with current roster, its not my real life job :wink: anyway if u ask is it correct to set 99 any shooting rating, no it isnt.

its all true, but for me one thing is clear, 2k13 is much better than 2k12, and im not talking only about visual things. With slimms fixed tendencies and improved playbooks/coaching profiles gameplay and most stats looks much better than 2k12. Your problems not lays in all these mentioned aspects of game. From the begining 2k biggest issue is AI(if there is some), and i would say more...its all about cheating by cpu, all the way. U feel u cant control pace of game because of cpu scripts. In 2k12 i can point when scripts turn on. I found sliders for 2k12 5months ago, for 2k11 in month after premiere. 2k releasing not ready product every year, trying to fix it after 3months -often without success. I dont believe in real sim game, not with 2k, ea either.

i think he is saying the ability rating of 99 just like blocks=99
