playing created player(s) in season mode on PSP

I've just downloaded NBA 2k13 on my PSP. I've found out how to create players which is only up to 5 player maximum. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to use these players in season mode if it's actually possible. There are a lot of really cool teams on this game including 90's all star teams and multiple versions of Michael Jordan and the bulls but from what im seeing is that they can only be played while playing pointless single games and not during season or association mode. Am I wrong? Is it possible to do this? Remember im playing on PSP.
