Hmm. The teams tab when I load my My Career file only has -1 in the rosters spots for almost all of the teams?

The non-free version of REDitor should be able to accomplish that when it's finally released.

red mc was just updated for 2k14 a few days ago, but it does require a pay-for license to open MC files and edit the teams tab to accomplish this
