I have have this same message since around Christmas Day roster and shoes update, I have contacted 2k support with no clear explanation nor help. I was able to both play online and receive updates with no problem until Christmas update. I have had two driver updates for graphics card and that company says that it has nothing to do with my access to 2k's servers.
I am not the most PC savy person, so please break down your answers like you are speaking to a PC newbie.
