Yeah, it's not a great move. Retail outside US is 3 days later, and by then the pirates will already have it. This could mean lost sales for 2K. When digital arrives before the pirated version, people are persuaded into giving their money to get it earlier. But now? -sigh- Why 2K?

I just ordered via Amazon w/ overnight shipping, so hopefully my copy will be here tomorrow. Toss me into the bandwagon of going to go Digital like last year, but for some reason, I guess not.

Hopefully I can get a workaround so I don't have to have the disc in the drive the entire time. That gets extremely annoying.

technically no difference, but digital versions are legal and dont require the disc, which is preferred by many, as is the ability to delete and redownload whenever they want without having to worry about a disc being broken or misplaced.

The gamestop an hour from me has one retail copy of the game. I just might go get it since its available.

skillzrundeep, buying digital from Steam, for example, allows you to just download the game on any PC you want, without having to carry the disc around, and without worrying about damaging the disc so you're not able to reinstall or even run the game.

A supposed digital release of October 2 would beat the retail release of October 5 here, and it's also 12 euros cheaper to buy digital for me. Still, I can't wait 2 weeks until October 16, so I'll have to spend 35 euros and get it retail this Friday. Dammit.

Is this 100% confirmed?? No Steam version for tomorrow?? If that's the deal, what a dumb move by 2K. Here in Chile it's impossible to get a physical copy, except for Xbox or PS3. Can't believe I won't be able to play for at least a couple of weeks, when I had my credit card ready for purchase tomorrow. Shame.

Everyone tweet them. This is a horrible marketing decision and they should know it. This is a reversible decision too...there will inevitably be a pirated version online tomorrow that a bunch of pissed off 2K PC users will download. No reason why 2K can't arrange to have a copy thrown up onto Steam.

lol, the "local" (hour away) gamestop said they are getting 20 PC copies tomorrow. Last year I got the only PC copy and it was a preorder for someone else.

They open @ 10am, if I'm feeling stupid enough, I might start driving out there and call when they open to see if they have any copies, otherwise I'll hope for Steam at 1pm or wait for UPS in the evening.

One of the key features of DD is that publishers can get games into gamers' hands more quickly. This defeats the purpose of DD.

It's a moronic decision.

It's not only the release date, but the way they "notified" people of it. There's a lot of people who were set to DL the game tonight, who didn't pre-order copies, who now have to scramble to find a copy or who won't have a copy for a few days. If 2K had notified people of the Oct. DD date a week ago many people would have pre-ordered for Oct 2 arrival.

Yeah I understand I don't condone pirating but I'm one of those that if I pre-purchase the game and it's available prior to release date (usually like the 360 version scenario) I'll nab it!

He might be wrong though, the "That's what they told me" is very vague, as stated above, 2K doesn't know what will happen. I'm just hoping right now for a Steam release. 2 weeks?? Come on, there's no possible explanation.
