My Player Information Week

CALLED IT!

Starting Tuesday, 2K is doing My Player all week. 2 screens daily until "maybe Friday, maybe Thursday, maybe Monday", and then next week is the My Player dev video. One of the main points of emphasis has been put on what you do off the court this year.

Note that the first column doesn't show the Overall rating, but rather the Durability one. Table was scrolled to the right, Ronnie didn't notice.

It's either a year 1 card with a MyPlayer that has had his stats artificially raised in order to test something in-house (developers tend to cheat during testing in order to skip the grind of getting to the part they want to test), or his age has stayed the same due to a bug/glitch (which would make Grant Hill still in the game after 4 years).

My guess is as good as yours.

We could be just witnessing 2K13's first bugs.

EDIT: LD2k says the screenshot is from whatever season Ronnie's player was 19, and that it's not a bug. So it's either a 1st/2nd year screenshot. Still, 96 on offense and 89 on defense seem too high for a rookie/sophomore. I say it's "dev cheating".

The new look is impressive! Too bad the MP faces look the same.

Not to mention it's going to be great playing association and having those stupid looking faces on the rookies in year two. Awesome.

If our fictional CF makers could make 500 CF's so it would cover all my years of association then it wouldn't be so bad. But that's not going to happen. Not to mention It will take a while to get 16 done and I'll be starting association right away.

I know the interface is Jay-Z inspired but he needs to check himself because that is way more Beyonce than Jay-Z.

It's still tough to get used to the Flashy Menus after seeing the ones in 2K11 and 2K12, they should of had "All of the Lights" by Kanye West since it would fit the theme of the menus now... . The created player faces still look awkward, but I hope they actually carry over throughout all the modes. I know they show up in MyPlayer all the time, but I have a fantasy association going right now in 2K12 and when created players sub/in out there's no picture there. Other then that I just hope the flush out all the bugs and crappy elements and polish it up, rather have that done instead of new stuff that breaks under fundamental flaws.

I don't get what's so bad about the new look... It's fresh and different. A cool design.

Not to mention we have to wait for REDitor to come out before we can edit players' cyberface ID's so that they can have fictional CF's. And we all know how busy a man Vlad is. It probably wont come out until 2013.

On a more positive note, it's good to hear MyPlayer is more focused on the off-court stuff now. Could be really fun. I've never really gotten into MyPlayer much before but this could be the year.

Still hoping to get some good news on Association soon, but I have gotten into My Player a bit in the last couple of years so I'm interested to see what improvements have been made there. It certainly would appear that not much has been done with face creation but if the rest of the mode is up to scratch, hopefully that won't be too much of a distraction.

Ronnie2K is on Twitter being as excited as a child getting a Christmas gift for being able to release the first screens of MyCareer today. Not much he can say on the mode until Friday, but he's tried to debunk the whole "19 years old in the screenshot" thing:

First, some good news. You can get drafted #1 overall in 2K13. This was obviously missing from 2K12, although I don't remember the devs confessing to it even when users asked time and time again.

The Old Camera effect on the logo is bad, it fades key pieces of the Suns logo. Not liking this screen at all...

You know the overall ratings dont tell the whole story.

Ronnie also mentioned that he chose the most ridiculous outfit possible. Hahaha

bowdown, I know, but still, the Suns GM should be pretty happy they got such a steal overall-wise at #13 of the draft, or the rest of the rookies are REALLY overrated.

It's nice to know you can actually start as an already talented up-and-comer. Should remove some of the grind of working your way from 60 OVR.

Yeah, I'm saying that hoping that they didn't actually switch from around 60 to mid 70, but that they're giving us options.
