How to add new players with cyberfaces in nba2k13?

Postby xpoing on Thu Nov 08, 2012 3:39 am

I'm having problems putting self made cyberface into my roster.

I've tested with a ingame caberface (Jason Richardson) created a copy of the .iff file png0805.iff. and renamed it to png1558.iff (it's the name of the created player) and put it back into the nba2k13 folder.

After that, I changed with the NBA 2K13 Roster Editor: GenericF to none. (If I don't the player stays as created in the game)

But when loading the player he hasn't got any head and his arms are white.

Help, please....

Enter "1558" in both CFID and PortraitID , Save and test.

thx Duke! it worked,

now I have another problem: I'm just testing replacing the picture of jason richardson with the 3dm4.83 tool. I've extracted the picture, saved under .jpg, changed it and saved back to a .dds file but didn#t change anything in the .dds menu of PS.

When I go back again and try to import the new file I get a error message.

What can I do?

The most I have ever done with the portraits is uncompress them, I have never tried to edit them or anything but my guess is something did not convert right when you saved to jpg. I have two suggestions for you. #1 Don't save the file as a JPG, save as DDS and open with PS or Gimp, edit and save and then re import into the portrait.iif or best choice #2 Go herehttp://forums.nba-live.com/viewtopic.php?f=150&t=88352 and read the tutorial, probably much more help than I can offer. Good luck
Edit:
I just did this, I did not test in game
Uncompress portrait.iff
Extract the correct photo
Save as DDS
Edit it and save as either PNG or DDS
Import back into portrait.iff
All went well, no errors

If you save as jpg you lose the alpha channel which I think is the error you are getting

ok,

I tried as a PNG or DDS. When saving as .DDS PS tells me that the file would lose its alpha information. When I save it as a PNG he doesn't say anything.

Result: both don't work. 3dm4.83 still show the error when I try to import it.

Are you sure it is an error? When you import a new file it always pops up a window with stuff I can't read but the bottom has "YES" and "NO". That is just asking you if you are sure you want to overwrite the file already in place so answer yes. If that is not your problem maybe you can put the picture you want imported on mediafire or somewhere and I can try to import it. I assume you are trying to import it into the original unedited Portrait.

The "yes and no" only appears if your import texture size doesnt match the original. Anyways, try looking at this photoshop tutorial , see if it helps. You can use 3dm tool to export the texture and i guess follow this to create your new portrait.
