NBA Today Roster (no, really!) RELEASED!!!!

Alright guys! Here you go! I've put together about as current roster as you can get. Only a couple bench warmers are missing because I couldn't find any info about them to even guess their stats. An explanation of the roster is below:

NBA Today V1 Roster

1. The NBA roster that's 100% accurate as of today, 01.04.12. I've made every rookie that's on an NBA team right now. Be sure to download as many rookie CF's as you can for the most accurate faces!
2. Larry Hughes, Jaamal Tinsley, and Eddy Curry. If you use my roster, be sure to download their CF's. I've found them all at moddingway.com so it shouldn't be hard for anybody.
3. Current salaries for everybody. 2k got mostly everyone's right, but there's several that's not even close. (If you're a Bobcats fan, I feel bad for you. Lots of cash wallowing at the end of the bench.)
4. Re-rating of the rookies based on ACTUAL scouting reports.
5. Real rotations based on the minutes players have ACTUALLY PLAYED this season. (Got this as close as I could, as a few teams had some extra minutes. Only the Clippers added up perfectly.)
6. Updated accessories that EVERY player is wearing based on photos from games played this season.
7. Hoopjunkie's jumpshot work. The work he has done correcting players' jumpshots has been added with his permission.
8. Changed Coach Profiles to allow for better Sim stats and better trades. See this thread for more info.

Next up on the plate: For those of you that love association mode and are sim nuts like me, I'm going to work on getting the most realistic stats using elknavo's formulas. It's definitely going to take while, but I'm really looking forward to it. In the meantime, I do plan on continuing to update this roster as the season goes on. Hope you guys enjoy!

I have to agree that everyone, including the people working at 2K, deserve a Chrismtas and New Year's break, just like the rest of the world.

You may not like their work on NBA 2K12. You may be furious with the bugs & glitches they released the game with. You may consider the roster to be inconsistenly accurate, even incomplete.

But just like every other person, they deserve a few days of holidays with their families. The rosters aren't created by bots (although with the right developers they could create such a system). Right now, every roster is created and updated by people working there.

So be patient for a few days. Once the New Year's celebrations are behind us and people are back in their offices, I'm pretty sure we're going to see some updates.

Leftos, I agree with you that people deserve a break over the holidays. I'm surprised that 2k has given us (or rather, the console users) the updates they have. I look at it like this though. The lockout has been over since December 8th. Free agency and trades and all that business started on the 9th. Everyone has known which teams the rookies are going to play for. I would have thought that 2k would have had a roster available right away, enabling all the major rookies, providing portraits, getting rid of the black arms, blah blah blah. They didn't. It's Dec. 31st and we're STILL stuck with rookies with black arms and CAP portraits and we're having to rely on the patching community to get rid of it. That is what I find unexcuseable. There was plenty of time before the holidays to fix it and they haven't done it. Hell, I'm almost done with it and I've been working on it for 2 days!

I get that most people probably don't care about who was drafted in the second round or which undrafted free agents are signing as practice bodies, but 2k could have done something. They pride themselves on their game being a simulation. It's not much of a simulation if the roster is incorrect and people have different colored body parts. I'm just trying to put the simulation back in their game.

Oh no, I actually DO care about having a great, complete roster, and I was downloading edited rosters from day 1. I appreciate all the work you're going to do, even more so if it's based on the Official Roster so that we can get proper portraits from the other mod and proper commentary for each player. And they should've started work earlier, I agree, again. We shouldn't have reached this point and still have an incomplete game. PC users should also get patches sooner, but oh well.

So go ahead, do your best, I'll be sure to try your work!

hoping to see the release soon. if you can, try and see what you can do with free agency on association mode. i.e. afflalo and lee signing 3 million starting salary is just too unrealistic. also gallinari only wanting to start at 5 million plus, that guy's gonna get his money not for anything but because..well, you've got to pay him.

cyrilvio, not sure why you don't see tinsley there. I'm fairly certain I got his face from that pack.

z_dize, the release is coming soon I promise. Hopefully I'll be finished today, if not then tomorrow. I'm not sure what I can do about the free agency. No idea how that business works. It might have something to do with their traits, which I'm fairly certain we can't change right now until the reditor is finished.
