Run time error '9':
Subscript out of range

I get this error whenever I try to import. My Java is all up to date. I think I followed all the instructions perfectly.

When I was working on my Carlos Arroyo cyberface, I ran into that "Run time error '9'" issue, too. I was able to find a solution.

I noticed that the DDS file for Arroyo's texture #3 was 171 KB, but for another player whose textures I exported, his texture #3 was 342 KB. So I saved my Arroyo texture #3 as a DXT5 DDS to make it 342 KB, and it successfully imported. If your texture 3.dds file is only 171 KB when you try to import, that might be what's causing it. Not sure why, but I hope that helps.

The first player I tried editing was Alexis Ajinca, his head is once again way too light for his body (I know he doesn't play much, but I'm OCD). I extracted his png, opened up his texture 5, darkened his skin to a suitable color, then saved the file. The untouched texture 5.dds is 349 kilobytes, the one I modified is 262 kilobytes (I was using a program called Paint.NET to change the skin color). The rest of his textures are the appropriate sizes (in kilobytes, 43, 349, 174, 349, 174). I tried importing and got the run time error.

The file I saved says it is a DXT5 .dds so I thought it would work. If I'm using the wrong paint program to make these changes, suggestions?

I also tried a similar procedure on Joey Dorsey since his head is too dark (I'm not a fan of the Raptors, 2K just screwed them both up). Same thing from above happened.

Just use Iff Editor, its better! the texture editor here doesn't work right.

I tested this with the decompressor here and works perfectly.......... (Y)

It works like a charm..........

Here is what you do.....Works with 32bit windows only

1.Unzip Iff Editor after downloading.
2.Open up folder then double click here...

3.Click on open on top right and search for iff file in your decompressor folder. IT MUST BE DECOMPRESSED FIRST!

4.Just drag and drop PNG files in to change textures.
or you can press save on left to save PNG files to desktop.

nshoe_ingame currently can not be decompressed. can you have a look at it when you have time. It shows runtime error 9, subscript out of range

Just a question. Were you able to export them using Mod Tool in NBA 2K11?

Thanks

No, just with Jerseys editor.

(Y) Ok Thanks

I know it's a big deal, but these guys are making free tools in their leisure time, please dont pester them about it

but I'm actually having an issue with the jersey editor. I'm trying to open the exported dds files with GIMP and I get an "unexpected end of file" error.

you may be right bout the wade cf. But for the kobe, the texture was made by hassjlx007 from baballs.com

can someone please make a tutorial on how to do this (cf editing), for us beginners, i do me beginners, would be much appreciated

there is already a guide on how to cf edit i think in the tutorial section of 2k11. It shudnt be any different but we have to wait for nba 2kmod tool to be updated, as for now you can use the cf exporter/importer from nba2kway

alright bro thanks, lol i'm just a desperate man right now, don't understand this new exporter/importer, ill just have to be patient,

can i just ask you guys if some1 can tell me how to create tats for nba 2k12 and wich programs to use ?? i would really appreciate that :bowdown2:

I think it's just the same as creating a cyberface, only you edit the arm texture files instead of the face texture files. The programs used for exporting/importing the files would be the same too, I think. I haven't done any texture editing with 2k12 so I'm not really familiar with the file structure, but I can give you some generic tips on how to edit the texture once you've exported it and stuff like that.

For editing the texture you can use Photoshop, just like with the CFs. Again, this is very general, and I'm assuming you have some basic knowledge of PS.

-Do a google search for cool tattoo pics that you like, preferably a picture of only the tattoo on a white/monotoned background
-Open it and the arm texture file in Photoshop, 'select' the outline of the tattoo, copy it, paste it on the arm texture file
-Then right click on the tattoo and then select 'transform' to resize and reshape your tattoo to fit on to the arm texture. Using the 'warp' options etc. in the transform menu helps, too.
-Once you got the positioning and size right, you might want to make the tattoo clearer/sharper, there are lots of ways to do this in Photoshop, for the simplest one you can use the 'unsharp mask' filter. There are lots of more advanced ways to do it as well.
-Then you 'flatten' all the layers into one, and then save that file in the right format that JaoSming mentioned in his tutorial about the 2k12 file structure.
-Import it again into your xxxx.png file in the correct place.

Hope that helps!
