Most of the new updated files are no surprise. The KD IV Away shoe has been added by 2K and is now available from Foot Locker, so 3 of the new files are separate files for the new shoe, and the rest are the updated text that describes the shoe, as well as the NBA Today update.

Curiously though, there's a new file, called "version.txt". Its contents don't say much.

Why would 2K need a version.txt in Online Data? Is this meant to tell the game when a new PC Patch is available so it can prompt us? Or is it just a version of the current Online Data?

We'll be finding out soon...

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR ALL MODDERS AND USERS

In its latest Online Data update, 2K has updated the Raptors Floor. Just like the Pistons floor, this means that whatever mod you're using for the Raptors arena floor will be overridden by 2K's update; that is, unless you're using Keep My Mod of course.

The new Raptors court is impressive though.

Also, a new roster seems to have been released.

INSTRUCTIONS: If you want to keep the Raptors court modded, install Keep My Mod, open the Online Data Browser, select f022.iff and f022_lo.iff, and click on Replace With Mod. Click on Save & Return, and then Force Keep My Mods. You're done. The game should now use your modded Raptors court at all times, and not 2K's update.

How do you get the update? Does it update automatically? Thx.

If you have NBA Today, you have Online Data updates. So if your NBA Today is showing yesterday's scores, you should have the Raptors court.

You can check if you got the update by installing Keep My Mod and opening the Online Data Browser.

Online Data Update January 27 (previous Online Data Game Art updates)
Today the game was taking a bit longer to update the online data on boot, and I had to find out why. Well, turns out, 2K has released yet another Online Data Update to go with the new roster, and it seems to have included some new/updated lines for the audio. PA announcer segments for new players? New commentary? Other audio? Who knows, the filenames don't say much. If you have more of a clue than I do, please do tell.

UPDATE: Comparing the various audio files names, the new files seem like color commentary. That means that 2K has added or updated story segments about one or more players.

UPDATE 2: I'm getting various reports that this is an update that corrects all incorrect lines that had Metta World Peace still as Ron Artest or Number 15.

Just doing my part on helping others. I've been leeching mods for so many years, I was bound to put my programming experience and computer studies to use, and give back to the community.

The NLSC crew are doing a fine job of keeping this community one of the finest running ones out there, with some of the cleanest forums I've ever encountered.

I don't need a title or an official invitation. Even if they don't need a new full-time member in their crew, I'll be happy to keep helping as much as time allows me, and get back every year with new mods and tools.

You can make sure if you have the latest updates via Keep My Mod. Go into the Online Data Browser, see if you have the new audio files that I've marked in the screenshot above regarding the January 27 update.
