You're not supposed to get permission AFTER you release. You're supposed to get permission BEFORE that. Hope I just misunderstood you, but conversions and edits on other people's work always requires permission before release.

what is it with you guys do you get permission off every writer before you write an essay? no, you reference them which is what I'm doing, just converting cyberfaces from 2k11 an giving them credit, I wouldn't even know how to contact these guys and I'm sure they wouldn't be that bothered.

It's true. Modders have left NLSC in the past because people converted or edited their work and released without asking for permission first.

You're meant to ask for permission when converting or editing other people's work before release, or create your own original work.

That's the rule.

Maybe some modders don't care if you don't ask for permission and just mention them. Some may not care if you mention them at all. But you can't argue with if's. You need to know if you've got their permission, or that they don't care about it.

I have a question, does anyone have NBA 2k11 decompressor tool? I had an idea, some of the rookies this year have no tattoos in 2k12 but have them in 2k11. I was thinking of taking the arm textures from the 2k11 faces and mesh it with the arm textures of the rookies in 2k11 so guys like Tyler Honeycutt, Kawhi Leonard have their tattoos. I do not know if anyone has tried this but it could be something.

Get permission or post a video tutorial so people can do it themselves rather than you pissing off the modders whose work you're converting. Also 3/4 of the faces have crazy eyes.

No, we WON'T shut up. If you're going to be part of a community, you should follow its rules.

The rules say you can't post converted or edited content without permission from the original author!

The original modders tried to do something good as well, but you're using THEIR work, and they deserve to be respected and asked for their permission if you're going to release your edits!

Learn to respect the game, or you'll find yourself out of it.

saying 3/4 of the eyes isn't showing to much respect is it? I respect the game, I'm trying to make it better by using the best cyberfaces from last year to make it more realistic, I'm new so I don't know any modders, so why don't you get permission for me and stop trolling this thread!

I understand you're trying to be helpful, but the rules/etiquette of the community are pretty clear here: ask permission first. A lot of folks might not have a problem with it but others might and it's their right to say "sorry, no". If those people are willing to give you permission to convert and re-release their work then we can open up this thread again (or a new one), but it's courtesy to ask first.
