Create-A-Team help

Hey there! I'm kinda noobish and I want a little help in 2K12. I'm creating my own team based off of our gym class teams at school (just for fun) but we only have 8 guys per team, and 2k only allows a minimum of 12. Is there any way to work around this? Thanks! btw i don't care about making real jerseys and cyberfaces and such, i just want the teams that allow having only 8 players on it.
